Not quite perfect
I (mostly) love this travel pillow. The pillow itself is contoured perfectly for my head and shoulder, and the fabric is soft and comfy. It's big enough that it doesn't slip into the gap between the seat and the window, and the firmness / feel of the memory foam is great. It keeps my head in a comfortable position. It's the only travel pillow I've found that does this. What I don't love is that it smells horrible when you first take it out of the packaging, and the strap leaves something to be desired. Although it's OK wearing it across your body and under your arm as shown on the website, I would prefer to be able to lengthen the strap so that I could attach it to the seat belt, tuck it under my leg, or some other alternative to having the strap in my armpit. I think I will make a longer strap for it, to give me more options; perhaps I'll make a little sling like this for it vaVesta - Replace Your Travel Pillow with Something Better . The strap seems good quality and I don't notice it behind my back; I just wish it were twice as long, and adjustable.I have a hard time getting to sleep even in my own bed, so a good travel pillow is worth a lot to me. So far, I purchased three types, and this is my favorite, hands down. The other two are the J-pillow Travel Pillow - Head, Chin and Neck Support - British Invention of the Year 2013. and the Push-Button Inflatable Daydreamer Neck Pillow with Airplane Travel Packsack and Luggage Clip - Gray .If you wrestle with it, you can smash it down into a quart-sized ziploc bag, and the memory foam springs back into shape right away when you release it. The first photo shows a size comparison of the three pillows with this one in its natural state; the second photo shows how much smaller it is when it has been mashed into a quart-sized bag. (This is the one on the left in both photos.)Pros and cons of the trio:This item (memory foam pillow): 5 stars(+) Memory foam insert is superb. Great contours and firmness(+) Big enough to avoid falling into crack between seat and window(+) Keeps my head from tipping forward or to side too much(+) Easy to remove fabric covering to wash(-) Product information claims it only weighs 8 oz, but it actually weighs 0.8 pounds (50% more! Bad!)(-) Bulky to travel with unless you smash it(-) Strap isn't as long as I would likeJ-Pillow 4 stars(+) The lightest of the three (0.5 pounds)(+) Soft and cozy(+) Some support under chin(-) Slides around on seat back(-) Not as much side (and chin) support as I would likeDaydreamer 3 stars(+) The smallest one(+) Light weight (0.6 pounds)(-) I worry that it will spring a leak(-) Least comfortable - pushes head forward; not enough side supportI paid the full price of $24.99 (free shipping), and I have no association with the company.

Gave me 3-4 hours of comfortable sleep, first time ever sleeping that long on a plane
This is a great pillow for use on an airplane.I've tried the inflatable donut pillows before, but they are generally useless for me. Even in the rare instance when they are soft enough to be comfortable, aren't leaking air, and are firm enough to provide support, they always put pressure on weird places for my head/neck. I end up being sore and unable to sleep more than a few mins at a time. This one was a totally different experience. The pillow itself is very soft on the outside, but has a firm foam core. So its a nice surface to lay your ear/cheek, but does have enough rigidity to actually hold your head up. If it didn't have the strap though, it would just pop off your shoulder as soon as your head went limp as you fall asleep. Instead, the strap keeps it up where it needs to be, and lets you really rest your head against it, in the same way you rest your head against the pillow when sleeping at home. You're still sitting mostly upright, so its never going to be just like a bed, but if you can manage to snag a seat with a little extra legroom (exit row, bulkhead, "premium" economy), and combine this pillow with something to elevate your legs, I was able to find a position that was honestly just as comfortable as sitting on a recliner back home. I slept for 3-4 hours without interruption, and that is easily the longest I have ever slept in a normal airplane seat.I did have one small problem with it though. At one point the strap fell off because a stretchy cord tying the two buttons together came undone. If I had lost that cord, or one of the buttons, it would have rendered the pillow mush less useful. Luckily I was able to fix it on the plane and it held up for the rest of the flight. Given that experience on my second use, I wouldn't expect this pillow to last more than a dozen or so flights before it broke entirely. But even if you had to buy a new one after 10 uses, you'd still be much less than $5 per use. And for the difference this makes in being able to sleep on a plane, that is definitely worth it!If you've got a long flight coming up, and you're dreading the thought of sleeping on a plane, you really should try this pillow. Made a big difference for me!

Worked very well for me
It worked pretty good! I used it on a 9 hour flight and then on the car from the airport back home. It was very comfortable. The memory foam is really nice and soft.Sleeping on a plane for me is still very difficult , but this pillow was much better than the inflatable u shape that I had.It took me a couple of minutes to work out the best positions to use it on the plane seat, but once you get used to it it's very comfortable. I was on a window seat and I usually needed to put a jacket to lean with my inflatable u shape pillow, but with this it was really comfortable just with this pillow. I think it would be really useful too on a middle seat. It's a little annoying when you want to switch the pillow to the other side and you have it attached around your body, but that attachment is what gives the support to lean your head when there is no window to lean on. I must say that it is pretty ridiculous to be seated with that around your head.It is bulky , that is annoying, but compared to the u shape memory foam ones I think this one is less bulky, and being memory foam it is much more comfortable than the inflatable ones, and you may squeeze it to compress it a little.I wish it had a hook to attach it to a backpack. And may be the strap could be covered in a softer material.I liked it. I would recommend it.

SAVE NECK PAIN
My head tends to lean towards my left side when sleeping upright causing extreme neck pain. This travel pillow is the best I have tried. It keeps my neck straight up. Pillow is firm and doesn’t move out of place. Very comfortable, even with prolonged use. It even rolls up easily into a carrying bag.

The contour of the pillow is great! Have not tried it on a plane yet ...
The contour of the pillow is great! Have not tried it on a plane yet but tried it in a car, the pillow really supported the neck, however the strap under arm can feel uncomfortable sometime, but is much better than regular pillows. My only complaint is the memory foam material - it had a very strong smell, didn't seem like good quality memory foam considering the price.
