Buy this book!
This is an excellent book! I find many devotional books to be rather "cheesy". Not this one. The lessons and stories are incredibly helpful - and apply to so many other areas of life in addition to caregiving. I've given this book to countless friends who find themselves in the unexpected position of caring for someone

Good stories, Few Prayers
Although I felt the stories were encouraging and the link to scripture good, I was disappointed about the dearth of prayers in the book. In the editorial review it says, "The morning prayers and evening reflections in this book are short and to the point." Unfortunately, there were only about three or four prayers, and I hoped for a lot more. Most of the books is comprised of scripture and reflection on the connection between them and the burdens of caregiving - fine, but it is not a book of prayers.

EXCELLENT BOOK!!!
This book helps me understand the struggles of caregiving and that all the emotions I go through are normal and I am not alone. That someone else has been there and done that and can offer support, hope and understanding to those of us that are still continuing the journey. I will always recommend this book to others. Even when my current journey with my mom is over. I hope to create support groups for caregivers - there are not enough of them - and this book will be one of my top recommendations.Thank you Terry Hargrave for sharing your journey and real emotions. They have helped me incredibly and still do.In response to there needing more prayers listed in the book...I believe after reading the devotions - those prayers should reflect our own prayers and what God has revealed to us at that very moment after reading the devotional. It can also be a time to reflect on what was read if you are not a Christian. The book is great for all people young, old, Christian, non-christian. Highly recommended.

BUY THIS BOOK
A friend sent me this book when I was caring for my parents last year This is an excellent and encouraging book for caregivers- a short morning and evening devotional for 30 days. The author understands the deep complex issues involved. This book is not based on secular psychological advice, but biblical, with verses and prayers. Challenging and comforting. Thought provoking. If you are overwhelmed in care-giving, READ THIS BOOK. If you are caring for someone, READ THIS BOOK. If you know someone who is caring for someone, BUY THEM THIS BOOK.
