Chubbs Bars Organic Animal Grooming Shampoo Bar for Sensitive Skin, Off-white

As a professional dog groomer for over 20 years, I was very interested in trying this out. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars because there are pros and cons, but In the end, the positive outweighed the negative.Pros: gets the dogs clean, very easy to use with less waste than liquid shampoo, lathers well, has a soapy but not unpleasant scent, rinses much quicker than liquid shampoo.Cons: I can’t say for certain yet but it seems as though I won’t get as many washes per dollar spent as I would with some liquid shampoos I use, really dries the coat out (this is the one that bothered me most).In reference to the drying of the coat, I found that lathering once with the bar, rinsing, then following up with a conditioner balanced things out. So, unless you have a dog that’s very greasy/oily, plan on using a conditioner after or risk a very dry coat (and possibly skin, too). I will continue to use this, mostly as a degreasing shampoo. I may try other “flavors” they offer to see if they work better.

I love the Chubbs bars! I have used them for two years now and I was sold with my first order! I will definitely stick with them and continue to buy them. They smell great and really clean well. There are so many different scents available that I probably won’t ever be able to try all of the ones that I would like to try. Then they seem to have different seasonal options for scents as well. The scents are not very strong once you have bathed your pet, so they really are not overbearing. And if you or your pet is sensitive to scents, or you simply prefer to not have any particular scent, then the Sensitive Skin Bar is a great option. It has that very light soapy smell, but no other fragrance.It is necessary to lather and rince twice, which is stated on the little info card that comes with it. Otherwise there seems to be some residue or dandruff. But when you do that it does a great job! I have a Doberman, so she has pretty short fur with no undercoat. She also suffers from skin allergies. This is a gentle product for her skin and hasn't caused her any problems.

This soap is a miracle for my standard poodle. She has hair like cotton felt and when it is long it easily mats (normal for a poodle, they don't shed because the hair grows mats instead,). One would think conditioner would be the answer but that only makes a small problem into a huge problem needing a #10 blade.This soap does so much to maintain her long coat, it cleans fabulously, and rinses out easily- much easier than shampoo when you are dealing with 60 pounds of curly coat! The scent of it remains for weeks and everyone who pets her comments on how good she smells.

Are use these bars on dogs at work, it’s great for Yorkies and other dogs with somewhat greasy ears. It’s hypoallergenic so I’m not afraid to use it on pretty much any dog as it doesn’t make me react either. I cut off quarter inch slices to use it so it last longer and I still get a good lather before I wash the dog. My coworkers who are not allergic use them on cats and love them. Good product, I don’t think the smell is that noticeable or great but probably better for a cat anyways. Lathers nicely and rinses easily. However it’s not the most effective degreaser. Only goop and dawn will take care of oily stud tail.

All was good but beware of you live in a very hot area. Mine has melted and I quickly threw it in a mold I had at home and stuck it in the fridge!
