I got this for my 1998 Chevy. Went on in 90 seconds. My tailgate is easy to open again! On top of that I think this may be heavier duty than the original. I’m very pleased.

Handle is junk made cheaply mechanism bends easily and not even close to quality of original not worth hassel of returning but would not buy again or recommend as a replacnent looks new but is just as useless as the broken one I took off

went to open tail gate last night spring and pin fell out, gate wound not open. just ck the return it said iam to late to return .need new one is this the case. please respond. didn't here from no one part is junk. will not buy no more.

This product fit perfectly. Bolt holes lined up. Plastic washers between metal levers for smooth operation. Textured no slip finish. I recommend this product.

Easy install, nice solid handle, looks like it should last. Good idea to lube all working parts involved, especially the latches on both ends of the tailgate.
