Cooperative two-way leash How did you come up with the idea for this product? While thinking of ways to eliminate the feeling of restraint caused by leashes, I knew that meant I would have to keep dogs from ever feeling pulled by the leash. I started by tying a toy on a rope and tying that to a leash. It worked beautifully . . . until it fell off. Not giving up on the concept, we developed what is now the We Leash. What makes your product special? There are no other leashes on the market that focus on the relationship between people and their dogs. The We Leash allows you to interact with your dog while on a walk and the restraint reducing design lessens dogs’ anxiety while on leash. Less anxiety means less unwanted behaviors and more enjoyable walks for both you and your dog. What has been the best part of your startup experience? Kickstarter was a great way to launch. You sit with an idea, and then develop it into a prototype, and then test it, knowing you think it is something the world needs. But, to turn an idea into a product, for us, it took people, complete strangers, to validate our idea with their support and wallets. Hours after launching the Kickstarter, we knew we had an idea worth making, that was gratifying!

Great concept but needs better materials for durability.
Really want to love this leash! Unfortunately the hardware used leaves me scratching my head. The plastic swivel buckle that attaches the "toy" end was chewed up in less than 5 minutes. If you don't have a chewer you may be fine, but in my experience mouthy dogs are also at least moderate chewers. Luckily the toy loop still attaches, but I had to push the plastic button back into place. It will be hard to get her into holding the loop without it being a toy she can play with and carry around the house first. The clip that you are supposed to use to attach a toy not being used on a walk is not functional for holding the toy loop securely, it just pinches it b/c the loop is too wide to hold it as the instructions described. There was perhaps a loop meant for this purpose sewed on with the label, but it was chewed off in the 5 minutes of initial play. So, my suggestion is to be prepared to replace the toy attachment hardware on this and any of their toys that are sold separately. The idea is great, hopefully they will improve the product design as they move forward.

but certainly is one of the best I've had
I've been using the leash for only a week now, but certainly is one of the best I've had. Very well finished, with primium materials. I only have a few downsides or better said, a few opinions. Although I think the idea of an extra dog handle is very creative, I'm not sure if its that useful. I rarely can Get my dog to use it, I think it should be done in a more appetitive way for the dog (just a thought). Anyway, I'm very happy with the leash so far.

Broke on the Third walk. The clip that attaches to our labs collar snapped. The metal broke clean in half, so I had to chase him down the beach... Yeah he is a large dog, but this leash was very disappointing.Do not buy if you have a large dog!!

Such a cute concept. My little ones were scared of it at first but love it now!!! The leash aspect also is great with the elastic in it!
