Illustrated Dictionary of Tropical Fishes Hardcover – Import, January 1, 1961

This book was written in Germany in 1958 and translated into English in 1961. It became a classic of aquarium literature and even now, though much of it is out of date, it is still a pleasure to read and still full of useful information. The colour plates showing sketches of many species are excellent though not numerous. It covers many species that were rarely imported and is therefore sometimes a very useful reference if you come across a new fish that you can't find in any modern volume.

I first bought this book back in 1963 but unfortunately that copy was destroyed accidentally. Even though some of the information is a bit dated the vast majority of it is still quite relevant to the hobby today so I had no hesitation in replacing it. A huge amount of knowledge contained within one book. Excellent.

I am very pleased with this reference book on a subject that doesn' seem to have many books of reference in existence - at least for me here. It is a very pricey Original book in excellent condition and the sought after information is all that I expected. The Book came from England and I would highly recommend this seller if this volume is any example of what he provides. Thank you so much.
