The Best Worst Hole Punch On The Market
The best of it's kind, and terrible.I make 2" buttons professionally and must have a precision hole puncher in my assembly line. Over the years I have tried every brand available, and found them all wanting. EK Tools seems to make the best, but 50% of the time the product fails on the first punch and has to be replaced. The rest begin to fail within about a dozen punches. They start out with a nice crimp cut, but before long the alignment of the die head gets wobbly, the cut edge gets mushy, the paper tears, and hole punch jams. At this point the cuts are no longer a complete circle and almost every punch has to be cleaned up with scissors anyway. And that's the best scenario. Because the die is misaligned, sometimes it jams so hard the cutting edge is damaged too much to function.I've dismantled this product and discovered the primary problem is that the two metal pieces, the hole and the punch, are only connected by springs inside. They do not move along a fixed track. That means that the punch is only as accurate as the wiggle of the plastic encasing.I would not recommend this product to anyone. Unfortunately it's the best you're going to find.

Disappointing
Disappointing. I have a large star punch from the same maker that is great so I had high hopes for this one. Unfortunatley I ran into the same issue that previous reviewers mentioned with the punch not being very sharp. The first few uses produced circles with somewhat ragged edges and then after about a dozen punches I couldn't even punch through lightweight paper. I printed out a return form within 20 min of UPS delivering this to me.

Not for Mass Production--Good for Cutting out Less than 100 at a Time
I used this to punch out paper labels I printed for the tops of my passion fruit butter jelly jars. It is the perfect size. That said, you are really cutting out one at a time, so this is not for mass production. I made 40 jars and that was about all the labels I wanted to punch out. I read the reviews carefully. Turn the punch upside down to make sure your design is centered. Be careful of pinching your hands. Don't try to punch out really thick cardstock or multiple sheets of paper. It was a good purchase for me, but not for everyone.

Metal flakes off, broke after four uses
Heavy, and makes a clean cut, but does not last at all. It broke after using it to punch four 2.5 inch paper circles. Four. I did not use thick or rough paper - this was no thicker than printer paper, and a single sheet. After cutting four circles the mechanism no longer releases, and there is no way to continue using it.Additionally, it left metal flakes all over the paper and counter. Returning it and looking for a better product.

Happy at first...
This circle punch is awesome the first 25 cuts. If you are a person like me that have to cut more than 100 circles to make buttons for your business this is not the cutter for you. If is to use once in a while I guess it might work for you. I had to actually use my scissors to cut the circles after the 26 time. It was fun at the beginning but when I had to use my scissors afterwards the fun stopped.

generally good supplier has one lousy tool
I used this punch to cut out 7 circles with regular card stock (one thickness) - then it broke, it will not punch. The fitting of the circle in the punch will not longer fit into the outer circle. Can't see if mechanism broke a lever or what has caused the malfunction but this is the second ek 2.5 circle punch in a row that has been bad (the first literally never worked). I use multiple punches from other suppliers and have no issues with literally hundreds of cuts. I have also used multiple ek punches of smaller size with no issues. I believe the issue is limited to this particular punch but that being stated - not worth $1.00 let alone actual price since it literally does not function.

Easy to use
This was easy to use even though I do not have a lot of strength in my hands. It made my project of making 48 buttons sooooo much easier and faster. I made some a couple years ago and had to cut out each circle. The only thing I would say is that if you are using this for button making, get it 1/4” smaller than the button or you will have to trim it to fit.
