Great deal, harder wood than expected
Great product for the price but the wood is hard compared to most basswood used for beginners projects.

Not Quality product
The 2" blocks in this package are not only poor quality but are made up from 2 pieces glued together there fore being very difficult to carve the grain running in different directions one of these pieces is badly cracked and may make good fire wood a bit expensive. I wood have returned them for refund but unfortunately I had already started work on this before being aware of this problem. If you want good carving wood do not by this.

Not bass wood
Not sure what this wood is poplar maybe. But it’s not bass wood. It’s way to hard to carve successfully super disappointed. The cute little box it came in is a cute little pile of pieces. Knife continues to slip. Guess I could use them as expensive glue blocks on some other project.

To hard to handle
Can’t carve it. My knives are razor sharp and I tried a piece I got from elsewhere and it cuts like butter. These blocks are hard as oak and the bigger 2x2 are little ones glued together. Don’t buy if they ever get more
