Youngneer LM2596 DC-DC Buck Converter Step Down Adjustable Power Supply Module Input 3V -40V to Output 1.5V -35V Variable Voltage Regulator

Purchase these for a DIY project I had going on in the house; adding some bells and whistles to the little one’s play kitchen.Boards arrive in a bubble envelope, individually seal in anti-static bags, all eight packaged boards shoved into a larger plastic Ziploc bag, with ZERO instructions. Not exactly the way I personally would have packaged or shipped them out, but they arrive in working condition, so who am I to judge.As for the board’s performance, I really only tested two boards, and ended up using just one of them for the project I wanted them for. The reason I tested two boards was because I thought the first one I took out of the bag didn’t work. I thought maybe I got a dud or it got damaged in the mail, seeing the way it was shipped. The issue I was having was that I couldn’t seem to figure out how to drop the voltage on the board. I found instruction online for a different vendor’s board, got my mock up all wired up, began to dial down the resistor, but nothing was happening. Double checked my connection and the 3rd party instructions, but couldn’t figure out how to drop the voltage. Took out a second board, and had the same results.Turns out I wasn’t turning the dial enough. Basically, the best way I found to calibrate these boards was to attach a voltage meter and begin turning the dial to the left and keep turning it until I begin to see the voltage drop. It might feel like the “screw” might come loose at any moment, with the amount to turning I was doing, but soon enough the voltage dropped, and one it did it went down fast. I went too far down, and had to slowly creep up to the desire voltage I was looking for.Overall, I was happy with what I got for the price, despite the haphazard way the boards were packaged/shipped. I still have plenty of them left, but would have no issue purchasing another set should the need arise.
