Morgenstern Men Dressing Gown I Waffle 100 % Cotton I Light I Kimono

Okay I was confused about conflicting reviews regarding the sizing so first off I'm going to clarify that. The sizes are a lot bigger than you would expect. I am a 44 chest but I have to buy 46 in shirts and 50 in suits because I can't stand anything being tight across my shoulders. I am 6ft and 245lb. Normally I would always ask for XXL and sometimes even that size can be small on me. With this purchase I gambled on what one reviewer said about the XL being bigger than normal and he was correct. So do NOT order a size up as another reviewer suggested. If in doubt go for the smaller size. Unless your gut is SUBSTANTIALY bigger than your chest then the XL will fit the majority of larger men. It has more than enough room for me.Branding - It is made in Germany but German friends I spoke to have never heard of it.Material - For the cost you could be forgiven for expecting more breathable "egyptian" cotton but I am unsure of how that would affect absorbency. The waffle patterning is understated yet utterly beautiful and I personally feel that it is this that creates the absorbency that is far greater than anyone would expect from such a lightweight material. The robe is lightweight but only just light enough to cope with the unusually warm evenings. It does not feel in any way "flimsy" like satin or silk would.In short, yes it's a bit on the pricey side for a lightweight cotton robe (if you can even FIND others that aren't terry cloth), but what you are getting is of a very high quality and many men will prefer the feel of this over the "wearing a blanket" effect of a standard dressing gown. You know you are wearing something beyond the ordinary when you wear this.Personally I'm VERY happy to have it.

Really disappointed with the item, when I opened the package I was meet with a well folded correct colour robe, but as soon as I felt and looked at the material it became apparent I had wasted my money. Description varies from dressing gown to bath robe. You won't see this review as all negative reviews are deleted.

Cool to wear but keeps wearer warm sitting on patio with bourbon after shower. Seams and stitching perfect throughout and robust. The traditional cotton terry towelling is available (shock-horror!) but sophistication extends to cotton waffle piqué, microfiber, multifiber, cotton velor, even 45% viscose (bamboo), 35% polyester, 20% cotton! I am very pleased with my first purchase and 100% cotton suits me fine and breathes more lightly than synthetic, I feel. I bought this for summer wear on hot days and I have worn it all summer; it has been perfect, nice and cool, yet absorbent and quick dryinG and warm enough to wear in October.I am just shy of 6 feet tall with a 46 inch chest and 40 inch waist (on a bad day) and as is my normal practice I ordered the XXL which has prevented any unintentional indecent exposure even when sitting down.Highly recommended.

Nice cut but dreadful quality material. Overpriced for what it is. Save yourself £20 and go for one of the cheaper options available. They are just as good

Let's clear up the sizing first as it seems to be a talking point. It's generous! To be fair it's true to size in many ways but make sure when you are checking measurements that you are taking them when undressed. There's probably a good two inches spare over what you would normally wear so don't go up a size unless you want to feel like you're wearing a sumo-wrestler's kimono...Comfort? Well it's not snuggly like a winter-weight gown might be. It's quite thin (which was what I needed in the recent heatwave) and I have to say it felt a little rough first time out of the packet. It also had a distinct smell too but I immediately stuck it in the wash and this went away - the softness might need at least one more go to improve it.Not quite 5 stars thanks to the softness issues (which I'd expected better for the price) but it does the job for which it was bought.

As a lightweight dressing gown / robe it is a good item. I've had waffle robes before but not a lightweight one, the "heavier" type are more luxurious and softer. The four stars reflects that this product isn't as good although it does not claimto be.I just can't ignore that there are better ones out there.That said i like this one and as a summer robe it will do very well.

When it arrived I felt absolutely disappointed and was about to return it. The material is too light and did not expect it would actually absorb any moist. I WAS WRONG. I am more than happy with the product. It feels and looks amazing. Only thing if I could I would order it one size down. Still really happy with it.
