These are the business.I used them for the first time on a VW Sharan 2012 car, they worked perfectly.Important to follow the instructions and make sure you follow the sequence correctly- threading the chains from right to left (on both wheels, not in the sense of the car driving forward) and then tensing the chain.These chains then really bite the road. They are significantly easier to use than other chain brands I have used down the years.Snow socks may be OK for UK but they are not legally classed as chains in many countries. In all my visits to the Alps I rarely see Michelin Easygrip.The big plus point of self tensioning chains is you stop ONCE. Probably always a good idea to stop 300' down the road and check the wheels, but not totally necessary. Snow socks you have to stop minimum 2 times.NB it is essential to get the right dimension of chains for your wheels and before that get snow tyres. Check with your manufacturer, my car needed a specific wheel size to use with snow tyres. Lastly deactivate the ABS system if this is possible when driving on snowy roads.If somone has a sports car with very limited access to tyres and the wheel arch, think twice about any chains...
