Cut my work load in 1/2
I bought this unit last year and of course we didn't get any snow. This year we had what they are calling a 20 year snow and ice storm with 50 mph winds.I am still digging out the snow drifts that stacked up 3-4' against my chain-link fences, driveway gates and sidewalks ( I have 2 driveways on a corner lot) But at least both driveways are now clear.I made passes taking down the drifts blocking my driveways a little bit at a time, this worked pretty good. Its still a lot of work to use this tool like this but it does work.As the storm progressed I tried to keep my important sidewalk passages cleared enough to get out of the house. Its a lot easier working with 1" to 6" layers of snow than having to cut the drifts down. All in all I'm satisfied with this tools performance and do not regret buying it.I'm using my Mower XD 82v batteries and getting about 15-20 minutes of shovel time before I'm switch them out.Update: I noticed that it picked up tiny stones and nicked up the paint on my truck. Next year I'll be more mindful where I aim the snow discharge...

Look elsewhere
First when you get it, there is no charger and battery... so it is useless until they arrive. The price is misleading and you end up spending more than other similar products...Battery life is fair but gets clogged up on larger loads which was not expected from a higher voltage machine...Overall I think there are much better deals out there than this unit.

Not Quite as Advertised
I give it a 4 star because it was advertised as being new and it was delivered as a repackaged product. Probably a returned item. So I did exchange it for another "new" one. The second was also delivered repackaged the same way. See the attached photo. I find it hard to believe that Snapper intended for the product to be shipped loose inside of its original box. Be that as it may, I kept the exchanged one as it did seem to work fine and I was able to use it on a recent snowfall. It does work as advertised. It is a bit heavy from the motor but that keeps it well positioned on the shoveled surface. I use this for areas that I cannot access with my snowblower. Patios and steps mainly. It works great on patios as it throws the snow up and over the patio railing and I do not have to work to hand shovel/throw the snow over the rail or let pile it up on the patio, which over a long snowy winter can accumulate to be a large pile of snow. As for the depth of snow, while it can easily handle about 4 inches, you can "slice off" smaller widths of deeper snow once you get an initial path through deeper snow. Say for instance you have a 12" drift, you can slice your way through that with a little extra time. Also when working it in heavy duty, it may shut down, I think due to a thermal overload switch on the motor. That can cause it to quit until the motor cools down. I do have three of the 82v Snapper products and so far I like them all. I have the weed trimmer, the utility cart and now the snow shovel. I have two 2 amp hour batteries and one charger to support what I need.

Battery
When you get your item and battery won't charge. Its not Briggs and Stratton fault. Customer service will ask you for serial number and will advise that its a unit from 2018 and battery lost enough charge that charger doesn't recognize. Briggs will send you a new one. For free. If you jump start the first battery with 4 18 volt tool batteries wired in series for 15 min. Then disconnect from tool batteries and put in charger it will work fine

Too heavy for old folks.
I like the power and the 82 volt system as I have the Snapper 82 Volt lawn mower, but I am not in the best of health and the weight is too much as here in Rawlins, Wyoming we have a large buildup of snow to use the shovel effectively.

Bad Battery
I received the Snapper snow shovel, opened the box and plugged in the charger. After 24 hours the battery had no charge. I contacted Briggs & Stratton, they informed me they would not have battery replacements until after the 1st of the new year.I returned the product to Amazon, received a replacement. Opened the box, plugged in the charger. After 8 hours…No charge. I will re-box and haul to UPS again.I can’t say Snapper or Briggs & Stratton are bad companies, but I will say I won’t be buying anything from them again.

not worth the money
snow blower is heavy and blows snow back into you while cleaning good only for a deck or porch with about 2 or 3 inches of snow would help if wheels where on back of machine for some stabilizing and less effort in pushing would not recommend and sorry I purchased it

Handy little power shovel!
I was skeptical about this purchase, but mom wanted it for her birthday. It came in quickly. The package was damaged, but the contents were fine.It took me about 5 minutes to get it unpacked and charging. The assembly is very simple. There isn't much weight to it, but it isn't flimsy feeling. The blower is well balanced and very easy to use. It has been great for the deck, porch and sidewalks. The only snow that it doesn't like is the super fluffy stuff that is easier to sweep with a broom. The run time is good, but not great. It charges quickly, about the time that it takes to drink a cup of coffee. In surprised. It is a handy little power shovel.
