Good block and tackle substitute
I'm no climber. Halfway up a ladder is about my upper limit. I do work with heavy stuff on occasion though and when my chain hoist is too big for the job a four part block and tackle fits the bill. I feel comfortable dealing with up to around 400 to 500 pounds with a rig like this. I bought this one to replace an ancient rig that was handed down to me and was getting a bit too rickety for comfort. I was surprised to find that you just can't seem to find a good four part block and tackle anymore. Everybody wants to sell you a poorly made six part and these are just plain dumb. They are useless for lighter loads and for heavier stuff just get a chain hoist. It's safer and much more practical. Six part rigs are prone to tangle and jam up when lowering and require a ridiculous amount of rope. These climbing style rigs seem to be all you can get that's of decent quality now. You need either low friction bearing sheaves or large diameter sheaves (4" or more) for easy lifting and smooth action, especially on the way down. Large diameter sheaves make for a heavy, bulky rig and it seems ball bearing sheaves or delrin antifriction bushings are now only available on these climbing rigs at anything like a reasonable price. These use the delrin bushings which are remarkably low in friction and don't need lubrication.Quality seems pretty good. The rope is pretty flexible, seems free of any twisting tendency under load, and grips pretty well in the hands. The action is smooth and very low friction. Frame is nicely formed from anodized aluminum with smoothly rounded edges so it won't fray the rope. Everything is clearly up to handling the practical limit of 500 pounds.Of course this rig is made for climbing not lifting or pulling things so it needs some accessories. I've found a couple of large chain quick links serve as good substitutes for the usual hooks. They're slow to use though, so getting a clevis pin style hook or two might make sense is you're using the thing more than occasionally.Used this rig to lift and position two 350 pound precast concrete cistern covers today. Held the load with one hand, positioned with the other. Easy as pie!

Quality pulleys and rope at a good price.
Quality design and manufacturing. Great for lifting loads into an attic or a heavy ladder up to a high tree limb. Well, looks like Amazon took my review to where I left off a few months back. This is a new photo with a fisherman's knot to secure the inner tied connection. Take note of the long tail for safety concerns. Nice thing about a braided rope is it doesn't twist when load is applied or removed. I have several of these sets and use them often.

Well built and Very handy.
Very well designed and built. Great price. Many uses in the garage as I can hang it on any exposed roof truss for jobs up to 200 pounds. (The hoist will handle it but don't want to stress the truss beam.)

QUALITY
I bought this a couple years ago. I use it outside mostly. I have left it out in the rain and elements for probably a year of its life, and pullies are still like new. The rope is a little hard, but perfectly fine. This is a quality product.

Great tool for everyday lifting tasks.
A first-rate tool for a lifting system needed by a disabled old mechanic. Used for everything from heavy truck batteries to hoods to 3x5 foot windows. Thick rope is easy on the hands. Jam-free easy-running rollers really increase the mechanical advantage. Wish I would have had this years ago.

Works Great!
This pulley lift works great and saved me a lot of time and trouble. I needed a way to get an entire rear axle assembly out of my truck, and also load the old axle to bring it to the scrap yard. This worked perfectly for me, it easily lifted the axle and I was able to hold the lift rope with one hand while I placed the jack stands to support the load.Only thing that would make it better would be a brake to hold the load for you, but still for what I paid this thing is fantastic!

Used these for lifting kayaks up to the rafter sfor the winter season - love em!
This is a great set up - the pulleys feel very sturdy and really solid, 100 feet of rope is really nice - very very high quality rope - I can totally belive its 7700 LB breaking strength! This is excellent equipment, and I really enjoyed the job of storing the kayaks!
