Crocheted Animal Hats: 15 patterns to hook and show off Paperback – Illustrated, November 25, 2014

The designs are fun, and some are unusual and range in difficulty from easy to moderate. I really like that sizing is for adults as well as kids.

It came on time and the product is in good condition. Bought this book because of the pattern. Will not recommend for beginners. Some instructions were a bit confusing and the illustration did not help me at all. Luckily youtube helped me on the areas I didn't get. Great for advance or intermediate level skill in my opinion.

Well, I've made 2 of these hats, the owl and the sheep. Very well written. beautiful designs. fun. Just one thing I'm afraid. the hats, in adult size are just huge ! they are adorable....but HUGE ! I am an experienced crocheter. I just ripped out most of the sheep and i'm going to try the child size. I'm a large woman, 6 foot tall.....big hair....so I'm not sure what happened with the sizing on the instructions ? There is no way that pretty little girl has a head as big as the hats I made !! But I will say, I LOVE theses patterns ! I WILL be able to make them fit. Just be aware you may need to make child size for adults, measure as you go. Very happy with this book....lovely pictures and really fun

This book is amazing. I love all the patterns! I have made almost every single one so far, a couple of them multiple times. The patterns are easy to follow and are all made for crochet. My nieces and nephews have loved their hats.

There are very creative patterns in this book. I can't wait to begin working on them... But, which one!

Good book and easy to follow

I haven't tried any of the patterns, yet, but I certainly intend to. They are adorable looking and the instructions look like they are well written and clear. The photos are good and show most angles of each hat. No specialty yarns are required, at least none that I could tell, which makes the projects economical as well.

The fifteen charming hat patterns are for leopard, frog, raccoon, deer, sheep, parrot, owl, zebra, duck, tiger, husky, bear, pig, giraffe, and rabbit. All of the hats except the frog and duck have earflaps. The book includes instructions for making and installing optional liners made either by crocheting yarn or sewing fleece fabric. The patterns use #5 yarn (bulky) for the hats, and either #5 yarn or #3 yarn (DK) for the animals' features. The patterns are sized for both adults and children, and have clear written instructions and illustrations. As someone who is only an "advanced beginner" crocheter, I can say that the patterns are not too difficult.

It is a very nice book with good ideas on making animal hats but the instructions are confusing and vague. The drawings do not use standard symbols to represent different stitches. If the author wants to represent the stitches using Japanese crochet symbols then I suggest her do not and do not create her own symbols. Overall, it is a good book to start getting into creating animal hats for kids and adults.

Bought for daughter in-law ... she loves it!

Great book good illustrations , very well laid out .Easy instructions and great pictures.I am making the Raccoon for my grandchild . She is 4 and loves wild animals!I hope to do the lamb next.
