Don't get me wrong...you can get 450 Mbps "after" realtime scanning for threats. That is, of course, if you purchase the advanced security license. To be fair, I'm a network engineer, so maybe this is overkill for my humble house. But, I will say that previous MX64 has saved me from having to re-image a PC, and has save a Firestick from a bitcoin exploit. The MX67 is just a bit more advanced, so I'm sure it will work even better. So, why buy this as opposed to an off-the-shelf router that costs far less? Well, you get a solid product that doesn't need to be restarted regularly, you get regular firmware updates, real-time checking for known malicious websites, customization similar to enterprise-level equipment (that can cost thousands more), threat detection, and guaranteed 24 hour support and replacement warranty. I've used their products for the last few years and I'm very satisfied.
