Good For General Listening, But Not For Ham and 2 Way Radio Listening
It works good for broadcast listening, but not for ham radio or 2 way radio listening. It's because when you use the VHF band it tunes in increments that are used in the aircraft commmunications, because USA VHF Lo VHF is 5 kHz increments at AM, NFM, and WFM and the TV and FM broadcast band is 50 kHz to 200 kHz at WFM, and Aircraft Band is 12.5 kHz increments in AM. Hi VHF 137 MHz to 174 MHz is 5 kHz, 6.25 kHz, and 7.5 kHz and 174 kHz to 222 MHz is 5 kHz, and all this radio can tune is at 30 MHz to 230 MHz in 12.5 kHz increments not any selectable increments such as 5 kHz, 6.25 kHz, 7.5 kHz and 12.5 kHz, so most frequencies will be hit or miss. Which means in the 49 MHz band it will only tune 49.875 MHz and that is it. And for those hams out there looking for a simple monitor for 6 meters look somewhere else, because this radio can only tune the 50 MHz to 54 MHz band in 12.5 kHz increments. So the VHF band is only good for listening to Wide FM and TV broadcasts and Weather forecasts. You might or might not receive all 2 meter repeaters like if I wanted to listen and monitor the 2 meter repeater in my area on 146.970 MHz, I would have to hear it on 146.975 MHz.Now for the short wave bands, the SW bands are set just right which are 5 kHz, so no worries there. The AM broadcast band is set at 10 kHz, but there is no way to listen to anything that is 1 kHz or 9 kHz, the settings are hard to find on this radio receiver. The CB band is set right which was able to to tune to channel 19, and other CB channels and it gives you a out of band range of 25 MHz to 28 MHz, and you can still listen to the CB band in the SW bands from the same frequency range which is 2.3 MHz to 30 MHz.I just wish this radio would be updated with more increments to tune, and also gives you the ability to listen to CW, AM, NFM, WFM, LSB and USB to be a great wideband receiver, and also the LW would be added such as 100 kHz to 519 kHz and MW as 520 kHz to 1720 kHz, and SW at 1721 kHz to 30 MHz. And VHF from 30 MHz to 230 MHz.They did a great job on this, but the VHF increments really need improvement

A tiny marvel
This little radio tries to do all things. I almost didn't buy it because of some negative reviews and impressions on hobbyist sites and blogs. I am so glad its low price and small size lured me into purchasing it. For me, a lover of multiband and wideband receivers who lives in an extremely good reception area at the Jersey shore, this radio is wonderful fun. The MW band picked up the powerful distant targets ( Charlotte, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, and Cleveland ) in the evening. The FM is in stereo with headphones and sensitive with crystal clear reception. The CB band picked up a couple transmissions and I am not near the highway. The scan-able air band was great, and I heard a lot of transmissions. The VHF band is nearly useless here with the odd assortment of frequencies provided, but I set it on the NOAA weather frequency for my area, and it received it clearly. The SW bands were the biggest surprise - my low expectations were proven unfounded since I received plenty of listenable stations. There are 50 memory positions, and it is not difficult to store stations or retrieve them. The clock was easy to set, and the orange backlight is pleasant to look at. I can't get over how much this radio is able to do for its TINY size and weight. "Your mileage may differ", but at my location, and for my particular interests, I love this thing. The instructions are understandable, but written in sometimes amusing English.

Everythong Good, Except....
Reception is OK. Earphones weak, but with different pair, audio is better. The tuning rocker on the side of the unit ceased to work. I can use presets and auto tune, but can no longer manually tune the radio.
