New Orleans Classic Desserts: Great for presentation, stinks as a cookbook
I read all the commentaries, but I wanted to see for myself. You are unable to look inside this book prior purchasing. Maybe that is how they get more sales. This book is a huge disappointment as a cookbook. All the commentaries noting inaccuracies, discrepancies, and out-right mistakes are completely true. There is a recipe attributed to Commander's Palace for their Bread Pudding Souffle. The ingredients and measurements differ from the cookbook published by and accredited to Commander's Palace, (which by the way, is highly recommended). And the mistakes for the Turtle Cookies remain. Aside from the above listed, this is a beautifully designed and artfully gorgeous book. If you want to use it for anything, but as a cookbook, I would recommend it. If you are looking for a functional cookbook that will allow you to create delicious desserts, you should consider spending your money more efficiently by investing in a functional cookbook.

Absolutely Amazing!
What an amazing dessert book! The recipes are well-written and easy to follow. The photography is stunning. Really brings out my sweet-tooth and makes me want to start cooking right away. Chef Robert Barker's Cafe Brulot Pudding Cake will knock your socks off! This dessert book is a must have, and given its reasonable price, is perfect for gift giving.

Nice pictures and recipe selection!
Nice pictures and recipe selection. The recipes are definitely tough, but as a native of south Louisiana, I like having this bit of home in the kitchen.
