Probably the best outdoor hats in the world
I've been wearing these hats for 15 years. They are the best. They're expensive, but I've never found any others as good. And twice I have sent them worn out hats and they sent me new ones. No charge other than the shipping. And once I lost a hat in the ocean and they sent me a new one at half price. I've bought plenty as gifts. Just be careful and measure. The hat will be exactly what you asked for, but just measure carefully. Like they say, wash often, no bleach. The hat will last much longer if you wash the sweat out of it regularly.

A Bald Man's Best Friend!
I just love these hats. This was my second Tilley purchase after buying a LTM6 "nylamtium" hat from a retail outfitter. First impression is that I like this model better. It seems to breathe better in really hot weather (we've already had some days in the 90s here in April). The two-year insurance policy (don't forget to send in your registration) and the life-long promise to replace it if it ever wears out, coupled with its comfort, timeless stylishness, and all-around "coolness" are reasons why you will probably buy more than one after purchasing your first. One important point: Measure your head with a tape measure and then go to the Tilley website to see what size to order. I actually went one size larger (1/8th) than I normally wear...that made for a perfect fit. I made the mistake on the first hat of buying a 7 3/8, but all my Tilley's now are size 7 1/2 models. My youngest son inherited the smaller size...he says the girls love it.One nit-pick about the T4MO organic cotton model -- the fabric is so light that it doesn't stand as "taut" on your head as a T4 or LTM6, but it is by far the lightest and coolest to wear of the three Tilley styles.

Great hat but lousy customer service
I am redoing this review. Really like my Tilley but the brim was flopping down and needed to fixed or hat replaced. I went online, downloaded a claim form and mailed to the address on the claim form. Weeks went by and I heard nothing from the. Finally the hat was returned to me as unshippable as they are now using a different returns address. I had tried to call them a few times but always got pushed to a voicemail and it took over a week to get a reply. Same thing for an email inquiry. Now I sent the hat to the correct address over 3 weeks ago and no acknowledgement of receipt of the hat. Called and again had to leave a voicemail which I don't antici[ate getting a timely response. Either they do not have enough customer service folks or they just don't understand what customer service is.Great hat for Uv protection while outdoors. A must for my sun sensitive skin especially when playing golf.

Listen to reviews
Hat is very nice. No complaints about the hat itself. I used Tilley's sizing chart when ordering the hat. When the hat arrived, I tried it on for size. VERY COMFORTABLE BUT, it does not fit as Tilley descibes it should fit in the owners manual. The fit desciption in the owner's manual is in bold black letters. Do as others have suggested; Use Tilley's sizing chart, then buy the next size bigger. The next size bigger would allow air to circulate in a chimney effect mannor. The owners manual says the hat should fit on your head by gravity only, which would allow air flow. I'm going to order me the next size bigger as soon as I send this review.

Not really a hat person, but it seems good.
It's a good hat. The jury's still on on whether it's worth $70 or not. (Luckily, I got the price down by using my amazon visa card points for half the price.) I have found it to be medium cool - i.e., it's not as cool as wearing a visor, which I usually wear for my morning walks, and I personally can't wear a hat for too long without it driving me nuts. But it's great for taking the dogs for a walk in the rain as it repels water like a duck. I'm not fond of how the cord sits if you don't tie it under your chin - I've tuck it in the inside flap, but it's still sorta "in the way." I do use the back portion to hug the back of my head. Sizing was just perfect, if you go to the Tilley site and measure as instructed. My only issue is the style -- but I didn't see a Tilley like I'd want - without the "dip" at the crown in the front. I'd prefer that line to be even around the whole crown. It appears to be very well made.

Front of hat droops
I replaced the Tilley I left on a cruise ship with the same hat despite my misgivings about how it looks in the front. I know it is crushable, packable, etc but I do NOT like the way it looks in the front. I am considering using something to hold the front up and eliminate the big wrinkles that appeared the first day I wore it (them). It is odd to me that they have reinforcement in the back of the hat but not the front. I like the sun protection and the weight just fine but not the way the front droops down. Maybe because I was in the military for a long time?

Top topper
I had a Tilley hat before, but it inexplicably disappeared. Even when we moved, we couldn't find it. So this is a just-as-good replacement.I like the little Tilley story tucked into each hat, plus the way it has two types of straps to keep it from blowing away in the wind. I need to keep the sun out of my eyes or risk awful migraines, so I pop this on every sunny day in the summer. It is supposed to float but I've never had to test that. It looks good with everything. And if you do your measuring correctly, it will fit snugly but not tightly.Highly recommended.

I'll Give You the Shirt off My Back, but You Can't have my Tilley hat!
I bought this hat for hubby after he fell in love with it at a pricey tourist store in San Diego. By combining one of his Amazon gift cards and Amazon's lower price, he now is the proud owner of a Tilley hat. Here's what he has to say:I recently purchased a new full brimmed hat to help preserve my hair thinning noggin. It's the "Tilley Organic-Airflow." The hat is 99% cotton, exceptionally comfy, lightweight, durable, vented, and washable. I use it primarily for boating and since the hat comes with a wear friendly adjustable shoestring-like strap it won't blow off into the lake. Retail price is about $80 which is a bit steep but it comes with a free replacement guarantee if lost or worn out. The hat comes in multiple sizes and two colors. Tilley's website makes it easy to get the correct hat size based on the circumference of your head. I would highly recommend this hat.
