So disappointing. Joanna is a great talent on guitar. This is my 2nd CD from her which has been a let down.

Big girl blues...
I find it difficult to analyse and review great blues records like this, I really do. None of the tracks are remarkable, but all of them are more than acceptable, if not excellent. That is just what blues rock albums are like. They don't stray far from their path, but you know what you are going to get - honest, unpretentious music. That is why it is difficult to pick and praise one track any more than another. What I know is this, Joanna Connor can play the blues. Classic stuff. No bull. No pretence. This is what the blues is all about. I don't understand why so many people express surprise at a woman singing and playing the blues. Think about it. No group of people has been more consistently crapped on and abused for thousands of years. Who better to sing the blues? People's surprise at her skill and talent is a small example. Ability and talent have nothing to do with gender.....Thus endeth today's sermon.
