Size:1-Pack Irish moss is a seaweed derived fining agent used by many brewers to help make a clear beer without the need for a Filter, and to prevent chill haze. Irish moss accelerates protein coagulation during the end of the boil which helps prevent chill haze. Use 1 teaspoon per 5 gallon batch, and it is added with 15 minutes remaining in the boil.

Only order if you absolutely can not find anywhere else.
This item is priced about 3x what's it's worth. You can find it at a home brew store for under $2. I ended up buying some at a local store and compared it to this item. The local purchase looked fresher, had better color and wasn't broken up as much. Buy this ONLY is you don't have another source.

Good fining agent.
I used this as a fining agent when brewing beer. It works pretty well, as it binds with proteins floating around in the wort, and will yield a clearer brew when finished. However, I have read about (and actually met a few people with a) sensitivity to Irish Moss (Carrageenan). It is similar to gluten sensitivity. I still use it, but you may want to look into it if it concerns you.

Great product
Works exactly was was expected. Added a small portion to the last 15 minutes of the boil and it helped clarify my wort before bottling.

It is great for brewing
One teaspoon in the last 15 minutes of your boil is all that it takes to get amazing clear beer. Numerous authors have described how it works, no need to go over that here. It may smell awful, but will no effect on the smell or flavor of your final brew; it is used for aesthetic purposes only, so you can take it or leave it but I like to use it.
