I bought this to use in place of an old Stanley gate opener from 1991, that died well before I bought the house. I love it! It is super quiet and I added a Genie receiver and a Meross Wifi garage door opener, so I can open and close the gate from anywhere and use the same remote that I use for the garage. I like how it has battery backup as well. I specifically chose this unit because of the following.1. It has an electronic stop (which is super precise) instead of a magnet, plus a slowed start and stop so it's easier on the hardware rather than ripping things loose.2. It is in an aluminum housing (but I wish the top and base were too. (I live in Las Vegas, and the sun eats anything not metal)3. it has a battery backup (which I also use to power the genie door receiver, so it will still function in a power outage) I only have 2.5 complaints with it.1. No matter how sensitive I set it to be, I cannot make it stop if it hits anything. Safety issue.2. It came with with an infrared beam safety stop like a garage door, but I had no way to run a wire to the other side of the driveway, so I bought a reflective one, which works great, just the supplied one doesn't..5 I wish it had a pedestrian mode which props the gate open 3 feet for deliveries through the day, but I use my wifi opener to just open in the morning and close in the evening.As a note, I also would not have been able to fit the 2 extra receivers inside. I bolted mine to the old Stanley motor box and gutted it out, which gave me lots of extra space for those. So not a problem for me, but potentially for others.

The clarity of instructions for install is awful. I needed this to be used with a solar panel. Tried to hire a contractor to install for me but no one wanted to be responsible. Apparently these units, unless made in the US, fail often.At any rate finally got it installed after a month and it worked one day! It was wonderful while it worked but abruptly stopped. Power source good but control module in opener would not turn on. Don't know if this means anything but the circuit board was manufactured in 2009!Thankfully Amazon is sending a replacement. I can only hope it will last. Bought a more expensive one as I had hoped it was better quality but not so sure....they all seem to be made in China .

We were intimidated by the installation instructions (or lack of), so we opted to have this professionally installed on our 17' gate. Therefore, I can only comment on the usage - which is smooth and quiet. We have had this gate in operation for over a year without issues. We did have to get a replacement remote, we took the broken one to a locksmith and they took the interworking and put it in a new case.

I used this opener to make my gate raise rather then slide. It took a like tinkering but turned out great. This opener is solid, built strong and seems like it will last a long time. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and installation on an existing gate should be a walk in the park. I am quite pleased with this opener and I think you will be too.This is definitely a 5-STAR product

It was easy to install. Is quiet operating and I love not having to get out of car to open and close the gate. I like the chain pull better than the rail for the sliding gate operation. I recommend the GateXpert openers
