We ordered this tent as: Mountaintop Outdoor 2/3/4 Person Camping Tent/Backpacking Tents with Carry Bag, Double layers, Three Seasons Tents for Camping Orange1202We thought we were getting a 3-4 person waterproof backpacking tent. I usually check over all new purchases before heading out on a trip, but this time around I procrastinated and did not have time to set our tent up before we left for vacation. We had made reservations to camp on a boat access only island campsite. We were taking our family canoe so transport size of tent was key for this trip (we have an amazing Cabela's 4-person extreme weather waterproof tent. We have had it for about 11 years now, use it regularly, but it's way too big and heavy to transport by canoe). Once I pulled this new tent out to set up, I was shocked to see that it is clearly only a 2-person tent. We had no choice but to squeeze all 3 of us in the tent for the evening. Fortunately my daughter and I are both small in stature and we all fit. We were like sardines in a can, but we fit. Me in the middle, husband on left, daughter on right. Even though we alternated how we slept (I had smelly feet on both sides of my head) there was no rolling possible, at least for me.The next day we paddled back to our vehicle and hit up the nearest Walmart (about 90 minutes away) to pick up a small inexpensive tent for our daughter, and a small tarp to cover it. We all slept comfortably that night. Our 14 year old daughter in her tent right next to us, and my husband and I in our Mountaintop tent. The following evening (after a day of fishing) we were getting ready for bed and we heard thunder rumbling. Being a boat access only site and now very dark, there was no time for us to paddle across to the safety of our truck. We threw all of our gear in our daughter's tent and we all hunkered down in the orange Mountaintop "2-person" tent to wait out the storm. The storm hit so fast and hard. It was a huge, and I mean a HUGE thunder and lightning storm! I have never been more terrified in my life as far as storms are concerned. The wind was blowing so hard and the rain was pounding my side of the tent (where my head was). We had some cover from the trees, but even so that tent took a beating from all the wind and rain. I turned the head lamp on occasionally to check the rain fly as we were afraid the wind would rip it off. The fly stayed on and everything under it stayed completely dry. It was an uncomfortable night with the 3 of us crammed in there, but the tent kept us warm and dry! The next morning while walking to the outhouse on our island, we saw a tree had come crashing down. The storm was so loud we never even heard it fall if that gives you any idea of the intensity. As a 2-person waterproof tent this clearly deserves 5 stars. Having been inappropriately labelled as a 2/3/4 person tent I almost took a star off. I see that this tent is now labelled: "Himaget Outdoor 2 Person Camping Tent/Backpacking Tents with Carrying Bag, Two Windows and with Aluminum Pole Frame". The design looks slightly different and it is now called Himaget instead of Mountaintop. In either case I can attest to the fact that this sleeps two people comfortably and is indeed waterproof. I look forward to more camping trips using this tent and knowing that if we ever encounter another severe storm and can't make it safely to our vehicle, this tent will keep us warm and dry.On a side note, the next day we spoke to the park staff. The eye of the storm basically went over the park and power was lost for 16 hours. They had just gotten the power back on when we paddled back.*EDIT* I am unsure why I am taken to the Higamet 2-person tent when I click on the Mountaintop tent in my orders. These are clearly two different designs and two different company names. I did a separate Mountaintop 2/3/4 person tent search on Amazon, it does still show up in the search and is the same tent as what we ordered but now labeled as a 2/3 person tent in the title and 2 person tent in the description. As per my review above, it sleeps two people comfortably, but 3 people is really pushing it.

Stuck out in the rain
I'm sitting in the tent as I write this review. The tent is small and light weight. It is similar to the Eureka 2 man in design - but about half the price. This is a good example of you get what you pay for. I set it up for the first time last night (in the rain - it was also 37 degrees). It went up easy without the need for instructions. The problem was that when I went to zip up the rain fly, the zipper was off track and had been shipped that way. Since the tracks are sealed at both ends there is also no way to fix it. Luckily I had an extra tarp that I was able to put on top and stake down. Obviously a tent without a working rain fly isn't going to cut it so it's going back. It has some positives like aluminum poles, other drawbacks like the clips seem flimsy and may be prone to break. If it wasn't broken on arrival it may have been a good tent for the price. But the lack of quality control was clearly an issue as I stood in the raining trying to think of a plan b. My suggestion would be to spend a little more and get a higher quality tent.

Can't lay down
The product I recieved was not as advertized -- it was listed as a 2-3 man tent when I bought it, now it's showing as a 2 man tent, but it's more like a gear tent. Mine also looks slightly different than the picture -- the one I recieved has Chinese writing on the outside of the tent, and the instructions were also in Chinese. Fortunately, it's a standard dome tent setup with nothing special required, so I didn't need the instructions. But this product is exactly what I purchased, according to Amazon.I'm 5' 9" (69" tall... tent claims to be 82" in the one direction), and I can't lay down straight in the tent all the way without my feet or my head touching the tent. Even corner to corner, when I lay down, I touch the edges if I move my feet. The only reason this gets two stars instead of one is because I could sleep corner to corner, and with the rain fly covering some exterior of the tent, I was able to keep my gear outside the tent to give myself a little more room inside.

Great color, and the two doors are convenient!
I like this tent quite a lot. It's a bit heavier than I wanted, coming in at 5 pounds, but that is my own fault for not checking before I purchased. It fits well on my pack though and will very comfortably fit myself and my gear when I'm hiking. It would probably fit 2 people, but you would have to be okay with getting close. I like that it has two doors, so that if you do have multiple people you don't have to disturb the other when getting out at night. The rain fly seems sturdy and like it will do the job. It is a bit tricky to get it folded down into the bag again, but not anything a little practice wouldn't solve. I would buy this again.

Great tent for 2 adults.
Just returned from our backpacking trip to Enchantments (WA). This tent served very well. Spacious for 2 people (we kept our backpacks inside the tent and they didn't get in a way.) Not sure how three adults will fit inside as it's not that big. Three teenagers - yes, but not three adult men (even if they were average size.)It was holding up in the light rain very well (didn't like the fact we had to endure the rain, but it was great test for sure.)It fits right back into the bag without problem if you fold it correctly. Great color, material and built. It was just perfect for us.

Great tent!
Just put this up today for a test run and it is just such a nice tent and easy for one person to put up. It fits a full size blow up mattress perfectly and the tent has vents upper and lower. It is light tent, and is perfect for hubby and myself to camp in for a few nights. It it is a nice night you can skip the rain cover and gaze at the stars before going to sleep. I love it!

so far I like it alot
Well, so far I like it alot. The price is very reasonable. I am going backpacking in Colorado next month, which I am on a budget with buying everything.. I have gone to Canfield's a few times to look at tents. I felt like this tent was the same material as this $300 tent @ Candfield's.I wanted to test the tent out. Luckily, it rained for a couple days after I set it up in my backyard. Everything inside was dry.Very light weight and easy to set up.
