Then this system is ideal. I highly recommend that before purchasing this product you do some research online and view the Kerdi installation videos. The product is not for the faint of heart or those who have zero building skills, however if you understand how to build a closet keeping everything plumb and level and how to hang drywall, also keeping everything plumb and level then this system should be pretty easy for you to use.Things I would do again during my installation:Plan it the same wayUse a level to make sure my walls and floor are done correctlyUse the Kerdi drainIf your shower area is not the exact size of the Kerdi floor then cut it symmetrically to fit, e.g. if your shower is 62" by 72" then you take 5 inches of each side to ensure that the shower drains right.Things I would not do again:If you are working with a general contractor do not let them talk you into using cement board for your walls, it isn't needed and is a pain to work with: although my shower looks great and is completely waterproof i would never use cement board Kerdi does not recommend it and neither do I.Make sure your walls are perfectly plumb, any bulge or dip in the underlying substrate will be there after Kerdi installation and that will require you fill it in with thin set which can create some interesting problems when you are installing your tile over Kerdi, this is not insurmountable but it is avoidable.Make sure you carefully read and understand the instructions on the Kerdi drain, if like us you don't have access to the plumbing underneath the floor you should not cut off the drain pipe until you know the exact measurements with a leveled floor. If you do you will have to do some interesting things to ensure that the Kerdi drain is not too high or too low.In summary this system works well as long as you plan it well and follow all the directions correctly. If i were doing this again I would consider using Kerdi board instead. When we were in the midst of our rebuild Kerdi board was not yet available easily.

These kits are the only way I build showers now. The corners and edges do get built up some, so you need to figure out how to get your mud right to make up the difference. Other than that though, it is almost idiot proof. Watch a couple YouTube videos, make sure your mud is thin enough and it is the right mud (not the cheap box store $7 stuff, there isn't enough concrete in that mix and it will not bond) and you'll have a waterproof shower before the tile even goes on

This was a great kit for me, a first time & diy shower installer. After learning about how everything works, I probably would get a cheaper membrane and go a different route next time- but glad I did this the first time. Also the shipping was quick and they were very responsive when one of the packages arrived later. The local tile shop gave me a quote for this same kit for $50 more +tax , so I'm happy with this purchase all around. Definitely make sure your subfloor is level first, FYI. And also do your research on thinset. I used laticrete.

Read the instructions, watch a youtube video then almost anyone can install this product. The waterproof membrane is better applied with a metal 5' putty knife when pressing the membrane into the mortor, plastic or a grout float just dont get the job done.

This was installed in our new construction master shower with the hopes to never have to worry about leakage. It was easy to install & so far so good!

Remodeling my bathroom the contractor only uses these kits. Saved over $200. by ordering from Amazon

The only way to go for a walk in shower!
