Kafka once suggested that the would-be surveyor in The Castle is driven by a wish “to get clear about ultimate things,” an unrealizable desire that provided the driving force behind all of Kafka’s dazzlingly uncanny fictions. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ the book is excellent quality but came with a fake dust jucket

the book itself is in excellent quality but it came with an obviously fake dust jacket. which is something that would not be a big deal for a lot of people because most discard the jacket for the naked cloth cover but i prefer the look of everyman's library dust jackets, which are i think great graphic designs. but the dust jacket that came with my order looks to be printed on a different material, with a very low resolution image on the front cover, and is missing the thin lines that cover the author's picture on the front, which i compared to my friend's copy of the exact same book. the book itself is authentic, sewn-bound and printed in good quality paper, so it's a very weird thing to have just the dust jacket as fake, of all things. i'm weirdly disappointed.
