## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is there anything that can be done about the buzzing/hum that a lot of people complain about this? (Better grounding, different filter caps, etc?)**
A: Changing out the preamp tube to a groove tubes 12AT7 took out a lot of humming on mine. Also i have read that American made capacitors are the best for the ripple filter and Mallory 150 series work good for coupling capacitors. I never checked to see what caps are being used in this amp, i have also read that you should avoid caps made by Cornell Dublier, and Illinoise Capacitor. Be sure that you file the ground holes like it tells you to in the instructions.

**Q: If i wanted to add an extra gain stage in the preamp section. Would it be possible for me to add another tube socket to the design?**
A: There should be room. Even though I didn’t do that to mine, I did add some more filter capacitors and a choke to help clean up the DC. That all fit without much fuss.

**Q: Anyway to fab this into a head cabinet?**
A: Yes. That's what I did. I would post a photo if I knew how.**UPDATE** Oh, I just realized I posted a review of this kit a couple years ago. I went back and added some photos of the cabinet I built. Just go look at the regular reviews. It should be up once Amazon approves the changes.

**Q: Which production tube guitar amplifier circuit is the mod 102 diy guitar amplifier kit based upon, e.g., fender champ 5f1, other?**
A: This is an original circuit and is not based on any existing amplifier.
