Confused, patchy and unprofessional.
Content wise, this book should be a good introduction to Unreal 4, the language is fairly simple for the most part and is consistent with most books which target beginners. Unfortunately, as it stands, there are odd spelling mistakes, words missed out of sentences E.G. "Step #2 DO NOT your Video File YET (In VLC)" Missing the verb from this sentence is rather crucial, I might be able to infer from context, but at this point in the book we don't have a video file; at least not one I've been told about. I think that there is a file I should have but that is not included in the files you can download for the book (The files by the way, are provided via a Google drive folder, not the best of solutions). All of this is part of a process which is completely external to Unreal 4 and the result of which could have been provided ready made so that the user can concentrate on learning the Unreal 4 specific bit at the end.So far (And I'm only 26 pages in) this book is very confused and patchy, going into lots of detail in certain sections and having almost no detail at all in other sections. There are words missing from sentences and the DLC (textures and so on) is a pain to access and often a bit bodged (textures not being power of 2 res etc).It provides an email address to which you can submit errata. But I can't find (either in the book or via google) where you can view these submissions. This book could be a good introduction to Unreal 4 but at the moment it reads like a draft. Maybe if they run through it, clean up the text, clarify some of the steps, and provide a more professional and comprehensive set of files, this book can be saved. Right now though, I feel a little bit cheated.

... mostly about the Kindle version -- It's not a bad book but the Kindle version is poor
Please note -- this review is mostly about the Kindle version --It's not a bad book but the Kindle version is poor.a) almost always when a word is supposed to have two Ls, the second is replaced by a space i.e. "to whatever the Event was original y connected to. The condition for these Branches, should be "Al owInput". In most cases this doesn't hinder understanding but in a couple of cases only the context makes a sentence make sense.b) there are unexpected paragraph breaks in the middle of sentences.c) the screen shots are almost useless on the kindle version and I think these would be a major benefit in the hard-copy.Ignoring the very bad kindle version there are also very clear errors which may confuse those new to this type of thing. For example, at one point Shah talks about a variable whic is an 'integer' and says it is a number (i.e. 1,3,1.5,7, etc.) and two lines later points out that integers cannot have decimal points. If you didn't notice - in his earlier example one of the numbers did have a decimal point and is NOT an integer. There are also some spelling mistakes - made worse in one case where a word is spelled two different was in the same sentence. There are a couple of these issues and it does make me wonder who, if anyone, editted this work.It WILL teach you the stuff, but you will have to struggle a bit if you get the Kindle version.IF the non-Kindle version doesn't have the issues (a-c above) then I'd give it 3 stars.**addition**I've seen the PDF file of the book and the colour images and lack of the odd Kindle anomolies makes a huge difference!!So 1 star for Kindle version. But 3 stars for the hard copy version!!

poor
Every single instance of double L in this book is incorrect, so "fully call" becomes "ful y cal " a simple spellcheck (or should that be spel check) would have sorted this

A Must Buy To Anyone Mastering Unreal Engine
In my opinion this book is worth every penny, whether it be on kindle edition or;paperback.Remembering that game development books tend to be pricey as it is.It is short and sweet admittedly yes but it covers all the information very clearly and very well explained.Perfect for students and very easy to understand. My only flaw is the size of the physical copy, i feel it could have been into a smaller pages in the book instead of a massive one. But that is only a minor flaw.Highly recommend this book.
