We saw this type of dinnerware at a Chinese restaurant where it was gold with red handles. However, the red was flaking off some of the utensils (including the chopsticks). We were going to get that set, but it was too expensive. We like the unpainted wood handles so we do not have to worry about the paint peeling off. Very good value. We do not use these daily, just for special occasions.
