Google Chromecast - Cast to your TV in HD, Android Streaming Stick - Stream YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Prime and So Much More on your TV

I really debated buying this when I first found it. I thought £30 was quite a lot for something so novel. Then I won an Amazon gift card at work and thought, why not? It arrived in a small box with instructions to advise on how to use it. We have ours connected only to the tv. The usb is connected to the tv and the chrome cast then takes its own port for the hdmi. The instructions were very easy to follow but you do need a smart phone for the app. We were able to find it on both Apple and Google stores. Well, it turns out we use this all the time and it’s amazing! So easy to get up and running. You can link it to more than one device and it works with our phones, laptops and with our PCs. I am so happy to finally be able to show videos or games on a computer and the TV at the same time. It’s really handy for when I’m playing games and my little one wants to watch. I’ll stream it to the TV while I play so she can sit back and watch. We’ve also used it to play music from YouTube on the big screen quickly and easily, along with watching shows we normally wouldn’t be able to watch through our smart tv. We can set up a vpn on our phone or laptop and then cast to the tv. Honestly should have bought it sooner and couldn’t recommend more! A must have for any ‘smart’ home.

I bought this because I just couldn't get my Oculus Quest VR headset to cast to my iPhone properly. It was SO choppy and kept disconnecting. It was not good. I don't have the latest smart TV, I have a Panasonic that was bought a few years ago. I also don't have 5GHz...only 2.4GHz. I'd read up about 5GHz being the best internet connection to use and Chromecast Ultra being the best to buy for casting VR headsets. Well...I didn't want to spend that much money...and also didn't want to take a chance on the cheaper casting options available, so I bought this one, to at least give my headset a fair chance of being connected to a brand-named gadget...and, after connecting it VERY easily to the Google Home app, I have been casting my VR headset to the TV without any drop in connection whatsoever and the picture/audio is only about a second behind what the player is actually seeing. After plugging the Chromecast into the back of my TV and setting it up with the app, I went into the sharing menu on my Quest and selected 'Cast'. It gave me a list of where I could cast to and my TV was already there. After selecting it and clickiing 'Next', my TV screen started showing the headset view. This, obviously, works with other things that require Chromecast, but I just needed to get my headset casting. A great feature is that you can select to cast from any compatible app/device and, if the TV isn't already on, it will power up and start casting. I also don't need to open the Google Home app at all...just select cast from wherever I'm able to. The Google Home app does give you some options that might be useful...and you can use it do disconnect if you need to, but I haven't needed to open or use it since I set the Chromecast up. Luckily, my experience has been a good one, so I have no hesitation in fully recommending it.

This little device has saved me a lot of headache. I bought this Google Cast on a whim because my Mum has one, and I wanted to try it. Then my smartTV broke and stopped supporting a viable internet connection, despite connecting to the router. PAIN. The google cast made it possible for me to stream to the broken TV using my tablet/phone, over the home wifi - which has been a great stress reliever. I’m in no position to replace the TV anytime soon, so this device has become pivotal to enjoying my evenings at home! It was very easy to install and didn’t take long at all, it gets a bit hot while running, but I’ve read this is common, and so far performance is not affected. It’s compatible with every service I’ve tried so far: Netflix, Amazon, YouTube, Disney+. I’m sure there are more! I’m also a big fan of the screen saver pictures you see when the device is waiting for a cast, sometimes I leave it on just for the ambience alone! For the price, this gadget is great value for money. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

I have an 7 year old Panasonic Plasma Smart TV, so it doesn't really have many of the modern apps and is also sluggish to load them natively. However, the image quality is still fantastic, so rather that buy another TV, I decided on the Chromecast as a cheap alternative. It was ideal for giving me access to the many other streaming services now available. It took me a couple of minutes to setup as I already have other Google Home devices and as a tech minded person, it was easy to add. I can now just cast straight to the TV from my Pixel, tablet or PC. I also use NAS as a media centre running Plex server and wanted to cast from that wirelessly (instead of relying on the HDMI connection which I run Kodi through). Whilst it casts Plex fine, Chromecast only supports either 50/60Hz and as most TV shows and movies are filmed at 24Hz, this can result in some juddering when panning. Kodi client has the ability to switch to native 24Hz as it's running directly via HDMI, with the TV handling the refresh rate. It's a shame Chromecast doesn't support this, hopefully a newer model or firmware can add this in the future, then it would be perfect. Still recommended though.

Going well after many years of service in my garage

as a student, this works amazing. I can cast from any of my devices onto the tv - anyone can also stream if on the same wifi . u can cast anything you have on ur screen onto ur tv which makes doing readings , playing games , writing notes etc a little more fun at least for me . besides that , it's quick , easy to set up and use . It's tiny so packing and unpacking it is easy and its a little cheaper than the fire stick and if you have a Google home , it is miles better. However , it is only really suitable if you live alone. This is because there is no remote: your device is the remote which means picking films and what to watch is a solo activity which is ok but not the best for groups. Unless you know the cast is available, it's pretty invisible, u have to tell ppl it's there if they want to use it. item arrived on time and as described.

I bought a new smart TV recently, I think that the WebOS is V6.0. The TV itself is great and most of the pre-installed and downloadable apps work fine. However, I have a Plex Media Server and the TV app for it isn't able to connect to it. Chromecast allows me to fire up the app on a laptop or tablet and cast it to the TV with excellent results. Chromecat works well for all other apps, such as iPlayer, 4oD, ITV Hub etc. etc. For some reason, the smart TV apps for these don't allow you to watch live TV when using them so casting them from your mobile or a laptop is the best way, although you can use Smart View or similar on android mobiles. I could also have used the smart TV browser to connect to the media server but I wanted to be able to cast my desktop, files and folders from my laptop too. Easy to install and good quality pictures.

This is Made in USA product and sincerely i was amazed that i received a USA product. Good quality. Works very well where i can cast YouTube from my mobile to my LED Tv. The plug of the adapter is US style. So please buy a travel adapter or plug as per UAE requirement else you cannot power onnthe product.
