Reasonable Substitute For A Nu Step
I had a little tweaking on a previous knee surgery and had to go for physical therapy. Not a big deal for me, but my therapist uses the Nu Step and both times I had surgery the Nu Step was probably the best thing that could have happened to me. I was up and about way faster and it helped me burn unwanted flab as an unexpected bonus. When I found out what a Nu Step retailed for(OMG!), I decided to scale down my expectations to something more reasonable. I found this, my therapist gave me a thumbs up and said that this was probably a tad less high techie, but would give me the same results. Bingo! As it turned out, I am not complaining because I couldn't buy a Nu Step. This is a huge step above a traditional stepper (which I owned and didn't care for). It is super kind to my knees. No stress or repeated impact there. Think of it as stepping without repeated pounding. I can go an hour on this with minimal trouble other than sweat equity. It has a nice gentle rhythm and the heart monitor feature makes me wildly competitive (with myself). I like working out hard and getting the heart pumping. It is a great stress reliever once I get into the zone I want to be in.The seat is comfortable enough, but I wish it were a bit cushier. Again, I'm probably too picky since I use this longer than most people. While this isn't exactly compact, it doesn't take up much space in my home gym. It is easy to get on and equally easy to get off of.If you put a tv in front of this or wear an iPod, this will probably become your best friend and will probably take your mind off the fact that you are doing something sweaty and healthy. While a Nu Step is probably more like Mercedes and this is more like a high end VW, this machine gets me where I want to go and helps me stay fit and keep the flab at bay.My only other advice is to shop around for a better price.

Saved Money!
My Physical Therapist recommended that I purchase a Nustep , but after reviewing the costs I could not afford it. Searching the internet, I found the PhysioCycle that provides a recumbent elliptical workout plus an UBE. I showed it to my therapist and he gave it his approval. I have had it 2 weeks know and love it. It is great being able to work out in the convenience of my home.

Very Nice Machine
I was shopping for a recumbent elliptical similar to the Nustep and found the PhysioCycle RXT on Amazon for a considerably lower price. Overall, I am very pleased with the product and enjoy the smooth elliptical motion. It is a real plus to have the upper body workout as an option. Using the PhysioCycle is almost effortless. I would recommend this product if asked.
