I've used this for almost 4 years now. As a washing machine, it's pretty hopeless - with water inside, plus laundry, it's almost impossible to turn the drum, and I worry about snapping the handle off. Far easier, less tiring, and more efficient to wash by hand using an old fashioned posser or wash board.But as a spinner, this excels. Balance the laundry, turn the handle, and in a very short time you can hang your laundry to dry without any dripping! Kind of like a giant salad spinner. Good gear system: it takes a little effort to start the spin, but then it's easy to keep turning the handle, and the basketvspins fast! Takes less than a minute to spin garments to not very much wetter than the main washing machine manages! Lots of water comes out - so either use this in the bath / sink with the hose open; or stop mid spin, empty the water, then continue. That's how efficient it is!The hose is a bit of a pain - rather stiff and non-bendy; silly "hook" system which it often falls off; and the hose end lid is none too secure either. I tie mine up with elastic.If you want a washing machine - think again. If you want an energy-saving spin dryer for small loads - I would recommend this. I love it!
