Compact Bible-NASB Leather Bound – February 1, 2013

Great version of God's word. If you are looking for a version that is the closest to a "word-for-word" translation yet still "readable" then this is the one for you! The print, also, is very readable. Not too large and not too small.

This is not as compact as I would have liked, but it has other important features that I wanted more. I wanted paragraph form so it reads like the story it is, it has a sturdy cover (not real leather as stated), and I like the red lettering for the words of Yeshua. The NASB is a fairly reliable translation, so this will be nice when traveling. I wanted a snap closure, but I can always make/buy a cover for it.

This Bible is the right combination of readability & portability for me. I can carry it with me in my bags with no problem. The NASB is a terrific translation. It's very literal & in modern English. No outdated language to struggle with. That's a huge plus. I just ordered another one for when this one wears out. Though I think I may have it rebound to preserve it longer. I would definitely recommend this Bible to anyone wanting a portable modern translation.

The NASB is my favorite modern translation, so no problem there. And the leather is very nice; no problem there. But this Bible sells itself as "large print" and that is a very relative term! I suppose, compared to some compact Bibles, this has type which is a bit larger... but not much. It also is a single column wide, and that makes quite a difference in ease of reading: the lines are long enough that you might rather easily lose your place when you go back to start the next line of type. Additionally, it's a "red letter" Bible, so the words of Jesus Christ are in red ink. But this red ink isn't very dark or vivid, so you actually get the words of Jesus a bit more difficult to read than the rest of the New Testament (!! - not the intended effect).These things might not bother you - but if I'd examined this Bible in person before buying it online, I probably wouldn't have bought it. Your mileage may vary.

Great bible for my 9 year old grand daughter but would be approiate for any age older as well. She is way ahead of her time and appreciates the very clear translation word for word and not by concept as some do, & so she didn't need a younger child version. She is a student of the Word and will probably use this bible all her young life we hope!

The product's size was exactly what I was wanting for travel and fits in my purse nicely. The print however was not large compared to all my current bibles that have the normal size print and the difference was barely noticeable at all. The print appeared as if they'd run out of ink and was faded like news print. The inside quality did not seem very good. I was disappointed that this bible did not come in any other color than the terra cotta color, so I could at least look past the other things lacking.

I love it! The print is not as large as I expected, but still better than the normal! Great value! Still highly recommend!
