NASB Ultrathin Reference Bible, Brown/Pink, LT Leather Bound – October 1, 2008

I was delighted to receive this quality Bible for a reasonable price on time.

Likes: affordable, decent paper and opacity for its price class and size, line matching, a thinline that's actually thin, rounded corners, printed in USA, something I can easily carry.Dislikes: the outer cover is actually thinner than the card stock pages immediately following, the packaging says "softcover leathertex" but it is nothing like Lockman's regular leathertex, glued binding, the smaller set of footnotes, no ribbons.

Quicker than expected delivery and exactly what I desired in a NASB bible.

This is my new Bible. It is the Blue Edition. It has two ribbons one is the blue and other is black. This is large print and is perfect for my reading at 72 years of age. For those looking for all the bells and whistles this is very close. It does not have the thumb index tabs or the red letter for Christs Words. I really don't need those things since I learned the Bible Books a long time ago and it is simple to know when Jesus is talking.I was looking for the important stuff like all the references and the maps to bring alive the message. It is very helpful to have those things to understand the travels of Jesus and the Apostles in their times. The modern language is much better then my trying to read the King James Bible. We simply don't live with that English and we never have in our lifetimes. It is old and archaic to us and does not make the Bible any more Holy to have it. This is accurate for our language. I have compared it where it is different than some other versions and it does NOT change the meaning of the scriptures or ADD to the scriptures. It simply puts it in our more modern language. To say that the King James is more accurate because it was the first English Bible is to ignore all the wealth of new translations in all other languages to witness to all the nations.In these last days God is reaching to the entire world for a witness to all the nations before he comes again.Remember that all scriptures are inspired by God. We can be assured that the message of Christ as the Messiah is the message consistent in all the Bible. He is the hope for all to be saved. That truth is ever present in all Bibles. This Bible is not real leather but very nice leather feel and flexible. It has beautiful silverbinding pages instead of gold which is beautiful with the blue. Pages are nice and no bleed through. They also do not stick right out of the wrapping. Very easy to just start reading. Very good price.

The letters were a little bigger than my current bible, but not big enough for me. Otherwise, good quality and a fair price.

Really nice basic black hard cover bible.It just feels like social justice is getting into my bible with this revised version,With the whole gender pleasing terminology. Among other changes,To be honest i stopped reading after a while and went back to one of my other ones.

They make excellent gifts

The best thing about this Bible is the 2020 translation of the New American Standard Bible. Much easier to read & understand than the prior version.The only thing I would have to say is that I cannot consider it “large” print. The font size is on the smaller side & the letters are tight - jammed together - there is just not enough white space between the lines or the columns. Even considering it’s labeled as a “Ultrathin” Reference version. Enlarge the text block by about a half an inch all the way around and don’t label it “ultrathin.”I think you’d have a winner!I’m a little disappointed because I wanted it to be my main reading Bible. It is not a reader’s Bible.But if you don’t have any problems with your eyes, go for it! You’ll really enjoy the 2020 updated translation of the NASB!I’m just an old Bible nerd!

I love the soft cover. The bible is fabulous as a book and this translation is supposed to be one of the better ones. I actually love the translation very much in my first few days of reading it. The book itself is a great size. It is easy to read, very comfortable to hold, it looks super with its embossed cross on the front and my journeys through the OT and the Gospel are very pleasurable. An excellent value for money bible which is already a firm favourite in my life

This is a great bible. Some criticise the NASB as being a too literal and somewhat wooden translation. Read a good review and try it yourself. Keep The NIV beside you to give a more fluent rendering. A great value of this particular bible is its supplementary material. It has a very extensive topical index of cross references and a similarly full concordance cum dictionary. The cross references indicate different aspects of a topic which is very helpful e.g. HOME has references for 'go home', 'at home', 'stay at home' and other uses.The concordance/ dictionary takes a word, gives a short explanation followed by references where it occurs e.g. JACOB - (God has protected) The former name of Israel, the younger brother of Esau, He was the favourite of his mother Rebecca, followed by the references. The leathertex cover is soft - but we'll see how it wears - and the bible opens easily in hand or on a desk. It also has pages for a family tree. Well worth the money

Very presentable Bible with a nice cover small enough to slip into a handbag.The text is 9 pt and I expected the text to be larger. If you want it more than this go for an extra large print.It is easy to read because the script goes right across the page, as opposed to some bibles where there are 2 columns.I gave it to my daughter for Christmas and she was delighted.

I bought this as a gift for a Polish woman at my bible study. Very nice quality in my favourite translation. Nasb is considered to be the most reliable modern translation of the original Greek and Hebrew text.

Although it was easy to read and compact enough to slip into my pocket, I was disapointed with the lack of suplimentary information ei no referance for other similar passages and the concordance limited. Not realy suitable for the serious student, more for following the inchurch readings.
