My original review from last year is below. I rated it at 5 stars. It was a great sealer while it worked, and I did use it intensively. However, after about one year of use, the sealer function ceased working. I have therefore reduced my rating to 3 stars to reflect the one year of satisfactory work. I note in this regard that, in using this product, I did not abide by any advice that may have been included in the manual indicating that there should be a delay between uses of the sealer function (I do not know if the manual included such advice, but I'm guessing it did). So, repeated use of the seal function without must time in between could have been a factor in the shortened life of the sealer function. However, other vacuum sealers actually will not function until whatever time the sealer function needs to recover. If the sealer function on this vacuum sealer needs time to recover after each use, then the unit should include that time delay as part of its operations. Given that there is no "safety" delay included in this unit, I am certain I am not the only one who does not always wait a certain period of delay before using the sealer function, and thus I will not be the only one whose vacuum sealer will cease being able to seal, which is kind of a deal breaker for a vacuum sealer.Original review: I am an intensive user of vacuum sealers (i.e., I've gone through a few, included a couple Food Savers). Although I have led this one less than 2 weeks, I have used it extensively. It is the most powerful one I've had - vacuuming noticeably faster, and perhaps sealing faster too (though that could have some down sides). I particularly like that the port for accessories is on the outside AND the unit does not have to be closed to operate the accessory hose, which I find far more convenient than units that have the port under the cover, and those that require the cover to be latched for the accessory hose to work.I have rated this unit based on my usage of less than two weeks, based on how it works at its very best (i.e., when new). If it worked at this same level for over a year, it would be entitled to my fully informed top rating, and otherwise, the sooner it were to break down, the lower my rating would be. However, since there is but a single rating number to assess, I make that assessment based on what I know so far, and so far I am fully satisfied, particularly considering the low price I paid ($41 per a lightening deal).

My only complaint is that about 50% of the time the machine seems to think all of the air has been removed from the bag when really barely any has been sucked out at all, but it will begin the sealing process and I have to try to hit cancel fast enough that it doesn’t ruin the bag. If I’m quick enough I can peel open the “seal” on the bag and try again, but if it’s already been melted shut I have to make a new baggie and start over. It just gets very wasteful after awhile. When it works it’s great though. Very handy for freezing the boiled chicken I give my dogs, which I used to have to make every few days. Now I can make bigger batches and just pull some out as needed over a few weeks. I also buy a dozen muffins and freeze them individually, then when I want to have one for breakfast I just pull it out of the freezer the night before. It’s just me, so this helps make for less frequent grocery trips with a lot less spoiled food.

The unit vacuums very well and seals just fine. Unit will not autoseal. They replaced original unitas company suggested-appreciate the service- but replacement unit also did not auto seal.Inside vacuum channel is a air tube. Placement was not well thought out. Makes it harder to use.Vendor was concerned following 2nd review. Although not requested, vendor refunded purchase price.Good customer service and unit still being used. No further concerns.

Works good, but I have found some bags with vacuum loss after I put them in the freezer.

It worked 4 times then it did not want to vacuum like it was at first. I used it like 6 times and now it does not work. I did not use it a lot. Not worth it.

Sealer was on offer during Prime day (and is since now offered for less actually). I wanted a vacuum sealer for a while to mostly prevent freezer burn but could not get myself to shell out $150 for a FoodSaver product.This sealer did not disappoint so far, it vacuums and seals well when you follow the instructions and leave enough bag space. The whole process is done quickly, not much time needed to suck the air out and warm up for the seal. Only oddity is that you can insert the bag roll in the machine and use the integrated cutter, but have to remove the roll before vacuuming and sealing.All in all I can recommend this one, for the price it does a good job!

I bought this product used it 6 times in 6 months and the heat band came off and now it will not seal products

I was shopping for a basic vacuum sealer to go with my sous vide cooking stick. I chose this one based on the price and the features. It took me a few times to learn how to use it especially with moist food. But I quickly learned how to use it. I like how compact it is. It comes with a big roll of bags too. I like having the built in cutter. It makes my finished product much better looking than what my mom did with her basic Foodsaver.
