BG Ethanol Fuel System Defender PN 213 BG Ethanol System Defender protects the fuel system from the harmful effects of ethanol. It keeps intake manifolds, intake ports, intake valves, and combustion chambers free of deposits caused by ethanol. When gasoline is blended with ethanol, it can wreak havoc on engines. Ethanol increases engine deposits, affects drivability, leads to corrosion, and eventually component failure. Deposit and corrosion formation cause engine efficiency and durability to plummet. BG Ethanol Fuel System Defender guards fuel systems from the damaging effects of ethanol gasoline. Added by a professional at every oil change, it protects intake manifolds, intake ports, intake valves, and combustion chambers from the damage caused by ethanol oxidation. Prevents fuel degradation Restores fuel economy Restores horsepower Prevents increased harmful emissions BG Ethanol Fuel System Drier PN 281 BG Ethanol Fuel System Drier defends engines against the water that accumulates in ethanol-blended fuel. Ethanol-blended fuel is hygroscopic, meaning that it absorbs moisture. If left untreated, this moisture can cause corrosion on fuel system components, leading to erratic engine operation, and microorganism growth that plugs fuel filters. BG Ethanol Fuel System Drier is a professional-use product that holds the water drawn in by ethanol in suspension, forming a stable solution. This allows the water to pass through the fuel system with no harm to combustion. Review: Good to counter ethanol fuels damages and issues - I've been using this stuff for about 3-4 years now (recommendation of my mechanics) and it does the job. Keeps the fuel system clear of the problems with using ethanol fuels. I use the defender every 2-3 months (about every 6-7,000 miles) and the drier about twice a year. It is not, however, a fuel system cleaner; it's purpose is to manage the ethanol fuels issues that come with that. Finally, my mechanics advised to not use either of these at the same time as each other or at the same time as using a fuel system cleaner, to wait until the second tank of gas after using the defender. Review: Works great, however didn't solve my problem - I thought I had water in my fuel, because my Tahoe was running rough randomly ...So I used fuel dry, injector cleaners, then this. I did notice an improvement in performance, but still had the problem. The Tahoe finally died all together. I had changed the MAP, MAF, new plugs and new wires and it kept getting worse and worse until it died. I lost spark and fuel pressure, which is very odd, because you usually have one or the other. I finally found my problem, or so I thought. The ECU (Computer) was fried. Well, my fuel pump goes out the day it comes out of the shop. I had already purchased one incase the last problem could have been the fuel pump..As we put the Tahoe on the rack, my mechanic spotted the problem..A ground wire had become lose and would have eventually fried the new ECU

Recommend by my mechanic
I bought it for suspected water contamination in my Corolla's gas tank. It seems to have improved and the "studdering" has ceased. Value? I didn't need the other product so that made it more expensive than it should be.

Works Great
My gas gauge wasn't working. My dealership told me that water in the ethanol gas had created the problem. I had two choices, one replace the fuel pump/gas level float assembly at $800 to $900 or try BG Ethanol Defender at $25.00. I chose the BG product. The first application made an improvement and the second appears to have corrected the problem. I plan on using the dryer I also ordered when this tank of gas is gone.
