ThrivingPets Aluminum Hydroxide is a phosphorus binder for cats and dogs with renal failure. ThrivingPets Aluminum Hydroxide powder is the most popular form of this medication and currently has an expiration of May 9, 2021. The technical name of ThrivingPets Aluminum Hydroxide Powder is Dried Aluminum Hydroxide Gel Powder, USP. Dosing Aluminum Hydroxide should be administered with food. This is a dose-to-effect medication. Aluminum Hydroxide powder contains 1200 mg of Aluminum Hydroxide per teaspoon. There are approximately 25 teaspoons of powder in the 50 gram jar. For wet food: put the food in the serving bowl, add the ThrivingPets Aluminum Hydroxide Powder to the food, add water equal to 3 times the amount of the powder, mix thoroughly, and let the food sit for at least 15 minutes before serving. The water and letting the food sit are to help the powder hydrate and the particles to break down so your pet can't detect the powder in the food. For dry food: put the daily amount of food and ThrivingPets Aluminum Hydroxide Powder USP into a ziplock bag and shake well. Let sit for at least 4 hours to allow the powder to absorb into the oil in the food. For dosing recommendations, please see Dr. Larry Nagode's dosing recommendations of Ohio State Vet School. Why ThrivingPets Aluminum Hydroxide? ThrivingPets Aluminum Hydroxide Powder USP is pharmaceutical grade Aluminum Hydroxide. USP grade ensures the quality, potency, and safety of the product. ThrivingPets Aluminum Hydroxide Powder USP contains 1,200 mg per teaspoon- the highest concentration available. Other products in the marketplace contain only 1,000mg per teaspoon. With ThrivingPets Aluminum Hydroxide Powder you administer less powder, save money, and can be confident in the purity and safety of our binder. Compare to Phos-Bind. ThrivingPets Aluminum Hydroxide Powder is not returnable by law.

It has no taste!
Having several kidney cats having to have aluminum binders, this has been a life saver! We were giving the liquid - mint flavored and the cats hated it! This has NO FLAVOR!! Mix it in the food and your kitty will never know it is there. Has improved our cats life :)

seems to help
vet refers to it as a binder (?) and to give 1/8 teaspoon with every meal along with meds to treat hyperthyroidism in my new rescue cat. what it does I don't know but my cat has doubled her weight,2 1/2 lbs. to about 5 1/2 lbs. at about 15 years old and seems to be a lot healthier even with all her health issues, witch are many. getting her hyperthyroidism under control is the key to the weight gain so how the aluminum hydroxide helps I need to ask the vet again.

Has improved my sick kitties' quality of life
After a few weeks on this product, used exactly as directed, my two very sick CKD boys have perked up and are feeling much better! I use the appropriate amount for their weights, mix with a little water then add their wet food and mix well. I let the food sit in a shallow bin of Hot water for 15 min, stirring at around 7-8 min then stir again just before I serve their food. They don't seem to notice any taste. Highly recommend this product!

EXCELLENT PRODUCT!
I'm sure this product was very good as it was recommended by our vet, but we couldn't get our cat to eat it unless we put it in some tuna fish. Then she ate it like it was candy!
