I am a lover of contemporary, classical? music, and consider that art should always reflect and illuminate today's human race in all the complexity that is now existant, and this recording does so. The fact that Hefti won the prestigious Siemens prize, didn't tilt much of what I'm writting, but the recognition of young(ish) composers, such as him (GF Haas, B Furrer, L Ronchetti) and even not so young as F Cerha, S Sciarrino. As for this recording, Hefti needs to be listened several times to discover the nuances and colours of the works here performed, in an excelent interpretation that brings out the nearly hidden layers and details of it. I do hope that the record labels that specialize in it could bring out more of Hefti music.
