Don't know if that helps. **Q: What kind of a shelf life does this have?** A: Hi I just checked mine. 2 years . I love it, it gives a steak sauce a zing!! **Q: is this a powder?** A: No, it is a thick paste that is reconstituted with water, wine or meat drippings **Q: Could this be used in place of making a Cabernet reduction sauce ?** A: This is very good product, it makes a great sauce. If you would want to use it to replace a cabernet sauce, it would do fine, but you would not get the flavor from the wine reduction. ## Frequently Bought Together - Savory Choice Beef Demi Glace Reduction Sauce Packet 75gr (pack of 3) - Le Sauce & Co.
