Review: writing titles is the hardest part of a review - I hate how some sellers group completely different products together, which mix the reviews, as well as the title descriptions. This review is for the detachable pocket, not the backpack. 1. It's advertised as 8.7" x 5.1". I measured 8.0" x 5.0" x 1.75" = 1.1 liters. 2. Rufus, the desertcart question bot, says it weighs 0.28 ounces, which is laughable. It weighs 2.42 oz. 3. The straps are both Velcro and buttons. When buttoned, it stays on a backpack waist strap, at least for an Osprey Exos Pro 55 M/L backpack. 4. It's not so long that it can't fit between the buckle of a backpack waist strap and where the hip pads are connected. 5. It's not so wide that it will interfere with your legs when hiking, unless you are maybe going up a really steep hill. If this is a problem, you can slide it to the center of the backpack waist strap. 6. The material is waterproof, but the zipper isn't. 7. It has one zipped pocket, which has a divider inside. So how does this compare to two other products that I like a lot, the 4Monster Waist Pack Fanny Bag and the Boosteady Strap Pouch? The 4Monster is a regular buttpack, which means it has a waist strap and can be used with or without the backpack, like maybe you want to hike to the top of the hill and leave your backpack at camp, but want to take your phone, wallet and keys with you. The Boosteady goes on the shoulder strap, so it sits up much higher, in case you need to forage a river or something. Weight: Freemove 2.42 oz, 4Monster 2.56 oz, Boosteady 3.65 oz. Size: Freemove 1.1 liters, 4Monster 2.6 liters, Boosteady 0.9 liters. Cost: Freemove $10.95, 4Monster $16.99, Boosteady $11.99. All three are waterproof, except for the zipper, so you may want to store your goods in a ziplock bag. All three will hold your 1) phone and 2) pepper spray or your wallet. I like all three of them a lot, so it depends on whether you want a shoulder strap pouch, a waist strap pouch, or a separate buttpack. If I had to choose only one, I'd go with the buttpack because it can be used without the backpack, but all three are handy.

Detachable Pocket - Overall Pretty Good for My Needs
This review is for the pocket, not the backpack. I have an older backpacking/ski touring bag that I'm re-purposing as a climbing bag. I wanted a small easily accessible pocket for food and my phone while hiking in to climbs. Newer backpacks have these pockets built in to the waist strap, which is an excellent feature. My pack doesn't have that, so I needed a retrofit pocket. This fits the bill better than anything else I could find (the other options seemed to be tactical/military overkill). It's a bit larger than I need, but I'm sure I'll fill it anyway. It seems well made and durable. It is lightweight and inexpensive. The soft interior looks like it will be gentle on phone screens. The only thing that left me wanting is that the snap part of the attachment straps accommodate only very small waist straps. That makes sense if you're using this manufacturer's daypack, other light packs or hydration bags. It's difficult to get it to work with the thicker straps found on larger backpacks. They have a second security point - the Velcro tabs. Good feature. They are at the end of the straps and are far more accommodating to a larger strap but are less secure than snaps. I'd prefer they switch the snaps to the end and put the Velcro in the middle; you'd get both more versatility and and more security. That said, I like it and am keeping this little guy!

Well made.
This pocket works perfectly on the sternum strap on my day pack. Well made. Zipper seems well made. Fits my large cell phone and reading glasses easily. Room for ChapStick and small granola bar, too. Happy with this purchase.

great addition to backpacking hip belt
With its 10L capacity and extra phone pocket, it's lightweight yet spacious enough to carry all essentials. The hydration compatibility is a game-changer, keeping me refreshed on the trails. Comfortable straps and durable construction make it a reliable companion for any outdoor adventure. Say goodbye to bulky packs and hello to effortless exploring with this versatile daypack

Handy, but needs a way to attach
Does what I need it to do - handy place to keep my phone and a few snacks. However, it does not attach to the strap in any way. So if you forget about it and unsnap the backpack buckle, the case will slide off. Lost my phone that way on my last hike.

Terrific product
This is a perfect size for wearing on your backpack hip belt strap or hydration vest chest strap for extra storage. Perfect for your phone, snacks, TP, such as that. I expect to get many miles of service out of this. It is easy to attach and easy to zip and unzip.

heavy and poor quality
The product is much heavier than it needs to be. While it has a water resistant zipper it has an extra seam on the front that serves no purpose and is not sealed. It is just not made with water tightness or weight in mind. Also the attachment straps are poorly designed. limiting how and to what it can be attached. The opening the strap leaves when shut is very small. Not junk but not well designed.

Decent pouch for the price
This pouch is definitely intended to fit on a specific bag this vendor sells. Quality of the pouch is pretty robust but the attachments are weirdly designed. Can be used on very thin straps that can be folded in half. Good pouch for toiletries or small electronics like phone and charging bank. Be aware that if attached to a thick strap it will only be the Velcro holding it on and not the two metal snaps. The Velcro is very very strong but not sure if I would trust it with heavy things. With some imagination this pouch could be used for many different types of setups.

Good little bag with only one issue
I wanted this little bag to use as a fanny pack attached to my hip belt of my larger pack and it looks well made and will do the job, but there is only one issue I think that will become a pain. It is that the size of the loops for the belts is fine for a standard pant belt and it sort of will work on a hip belt of a pack except it is too small to just slide over the buckle of the hip belt when attached. They need to make the loops to attach to the belt twice as large. Now I will need to attached it each time I put on the pack which could be made more easier by just having larger belt loops.

Convenient pouch!
Exactly what I needed, thanks for making this! Fits on my back pack strap perfectly and I can put my iPod, phone , keys in it, so convenient!

Small
Smaller than expected.

Good quality. Exactly like the description.
It works well for a belt but for my purposes I wish the attachments on the back were slightly wider so I could attach them to my backpack hip belt.
