Find out all about NASA in this out-of-this-world addition to the What Was? series. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, better known as NASA, began in 1958. With its creation, the United States hoped to ensure it won the space race against the Soviet Union. Author Sarah Fabiny describes the origins of NASA, the launching of the Apollo program that landed the first human on the moon, and the many missions and discoveries that have taken place since then. NASA has a rich history and still plays an important role in uncovering the mysteries of the universe. Readers are sure to get sucked into this book. Review: Great book - good book; bought for my school library Review: love this series - These books are amazing. My child loves to read them. She enjoys learning about things around her and past events so these work great. They are well written in a way children can understand as well, and desertcart sells them for the best price we have found.

Canโt say enough about the WhoHQ books! My son is five and loves learning about different subjects. These books provide great explanations and black and white illustrations to keep his attention when I read to him!

Perfect book
Perfect length book. Not too lengthy that youโll get bored. I love this series. It gives you all the information you need to know, but doesnโt bore you.

Another winner from the โwhat wasโ series - very impressive
I like the clarity and crisp writing. Iโd recommend this to anyone who wants to learn a great deal about NASA in a short time. I chose this rating because this, like all the books in this series, offered an extremely high value for the small amount of money and time I spent.

Great series for curious kids
My kids love these books and so do I. Theyโre easily digestible, thorough, interesting and informative. Iโve learnt a lot from them myself, even as someone well read. The range is fantastic (although improving this to be less US centric would be ideal).
