Waterproof PWM LS1024RP Solar Panel Charge Controller Regulator 12/24V 10A

I have 5 of these, and they've been in use for 13 months. All but one have operated 100% reliably in temperatures from 12F to over 106F. I placed a 12VDC battery (12AH), this charge controller, and a 400W Cobra inverter in a water-resistant plastic container with a snap-on lid, which is placed behind the solar panel (off the ground and 100% shielded from direct sunlight).The one unit that partially failed was in the same container as above, but 1) the container was on the ground, 2) exposed to direct sunlight 50% of daylight hours, and 3) the snap-on container lid came off sometime in the winter months (presumably from high wind gusts in November, which means the unit was exposed to rain). This container was then buried under 3ft of snow from Dec thru mid-Feb. As the lighting system continued to work during the winter, I was unaware of the lidless container until the snow started to melt in February. At that time, the box filled with water from snow-melt, and the system failed. The sealed battery failed 100% and the inverter failed 100%, but the charge controller continued to function after I replaced the battery and inverter. Unfortunately, the lighting-controller electronics failed (either the timer circuit and/or photo-electric controller, I assume). The result is the lights turn-on and stay-on at dusk, but when it gets dark, the lights oscillate from on to off during the 2 hour setting (so that part of the timer works)--it acts as though the photo sensor see's the light from the controlled lights (but the sensor is turned 180deg from the 600 Lumin light, the nearest of which is 25ft away--but to be certain, I covered the light sensor).I have nothing to compare this unit with, as I selected this one after thoroughly researching products in this class of charge/lighting controllers, but I'm quite happy with this product (and I changed the container to one that has handle-clamps to secure the lid).

Not used a replacement for when my current one craps out

Packaging was very good. Controller works as expected and I would reccomend this item. This controller has been working in a system for 6 months and has works beyond expectations!

This is on a solar panel , thats on a kayak that sits outside all the time in the weather. Its holding up fine

I bought this device to experiment on a few solar plans that have been on the back of my mind. Thus far the product has functioned superbly even when the ambient temperature has climbed a bit.... to 30C. We'll see how it operates during August, the hottest time of the year.
