Interesting, educational, and unique
I bought this book for my grandfather who has a very fruitful quince tree. I thought it would be great for telling him how to care for the tree and propagate it, etc. It is a very nice book with lots of information and some nice illustrations. It appears to be a reproduction of a book published in the 1800s. It has an old look to it and has some of that old knowledge that seems to have disappeared over the years. Apparently his particular species of quince is not covered in the book, so I guess the book does not cover everything about quinces, but if you are looking for information on this tree, I recommend giving this book a try. I think you will enjoy it.

Quince jam expert enjoys Quince Garden book
This book is fabulous. It was given to a relative who LOVES to make quince jam and other quince products..she is fascinated by quince (and we benefit by her fascination) She loves this book..she is about to buy a house with a large garden and is thinking about learning how to plant and cultivate quince. So, she now has an excellent book to help her make that choice.

excellent book. a must have!!!
This is an excellent book not only for quince growers. The information it contains will benefit anyone that gardens. From site selection, soil types and how to amend them, natural fertilizers and detailed grafting/propagation techniques, this book should be on all shelves! You could search the net and never find half this information. The tips and tricks to growing quince are all here. The quince varieties listed are somewhat outdated but some are still available, others only renamed. After reading this book, few, if any questions will remain unanswered. Buy...enjoy!
