Instant Off ECO-CH Chrome Automatic Water Shut Off

While this does the job, it causes a couple of problems not advertised. Keep in mind this was purchased to guard against the faucet being left on all night long by my father who unfortunately suffers from dementia. 1) It causes a water hammer each time you use it, unless you have the water turned on only very slightly with very little flow. 2) Because it relies on the water pressure to seal it closed, it doesn't seal in the opposite direction of flow. As such it can cause water flow oddities from OTHER faucets as air can be drawn into the faucet. For example, if faucet 1 (using this device) is left in the on position in one room (but not flowing because of this device) turning the hot water faucet on in another room will draw water from the pipes connected to the faucet 1, because it allows air to be drawn in. This messes with the time it takes to get hot water, or sometimes whether you will get hot water at all.This item (http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B0036EAESU?tag=betteraddons-20) seems to eliminate both issues. It's lever based on/off valve is smoother virtually eliminating the water hammer effect and it doesn't seem to cause the same problem described in 2 above. Also, this item does have a mechanism to leave the water in the on position so it can be used in a kitchen sink where some tasks require a continuous, hands free, flow of water. Not a bad device but not a good fit for my requirements.

Was looking forward to use this but didn’t fit any of my faucets. So it’s just junk now. :/

Takes some getting used to but it makes you realize just how much you waste. Easy to install.

Works Great when you have people that don't care about water waste.

Its the greatest and easiest way to use the water while brushing your teeth or washing your hands. Really saves the water.

My sink isn't very deep, so it would be nice if the stem was adjustable.

Crap! Didn't fit my bathroom faucet. Useless and not worth the hassle returning it.
