Woodriver Brass Cane Coupling Hardware

The coupling is a quality, precision machined part. I used it on the 1" diameter shaft of a cane I built.

This is an excellent TWO PIECE cane coupler. The fit and finish is so good that some complain that this is a single piece. An very well machined and very close fitting assembly. I own a CNC Machining Center and a CNC Lathe and machining equivalent parts on my machines would cost many times the price of these components. The selling price is close to the raw material cost!

This is a quality machined product. I too thought it was incomplete until I researched it a bit. I clamped it in my vise with rubber jaws, then using a rubber protected pair of pliers I was able to slowly unscrew and separate the pieces. Just be careful not to damage the product. After several cycles it easily unscrews with just my fingers.

The brass piece is a solid piece and does not detach as advertised. Unless I'm missing something obvious this piece is clearly not what was depicted on the page OR ON PACKAGING.

Just got these today, and wow! The negative reviews mostly state that the things are deceptively advertised as being two pieces. Well, they ARE two pieces. They are just so well made that, when screwed together, the seam between them is undetectable! Isn't that what you'd want? The first few rounds of disconnecting and reconnecting will get the threads broken in. Far from being a flaw, that's an indication of how precise the tolerances are in their production. If the two pieces seem inseparable when you first get them, just use two pairs of pliers and some gentle pressure to get them to disconnect. A single drop of oil will have them sipping-and-sliding forevermore. I am very impressed. 👍

Excellent connector for dowels or any round stock. Great quality with male/female line-up then screw connection. Buy!

I wanted to use it to put together and take apart a walking stick! This one does not screw apart!

Will be using to repair classic walking cane.
