The anecdotes shared in this book are refreshingly honest. The lessons she shares from her own life contain many insights into not only the mental and emotional needs of young boys, but also contain practical ways that she was able to address those needs. I plan on using many of her strategies in dealing with my own 3 1/2 year old son.On another note, though this is written from a Christian perspective, I see how people from other religious traditions could still benefit from the basic principles and wisdom Dana shares throughout the book and make it applicable to their own lives, traditions, and beliefs.This is not a reference book on being a single mom, but rather it's a light, uplifting read packed with insight and wisdom. I find myself picking it up time and again when I'm having a difficult day.

As a new single mother to a beautiful baby boy, this book has given me something I desperately needed - hope. I know now that whatever my fears are, whatever my struggles are, I can hand it over to God and He will always provide. This book gives practical advice on how to raise our sons to be "men after God's own heart".

This book is about the fundamentals of raising a godly son as a single mom. While I felt some of this book was redundant or just scratching the surface, she did include some good practical ideas of things I can do in raising my son alone.

I absolutely love this book. I've taken notes and read through it. I will read it again and then I will thrift it to my community at the right moment.

I super love this book! From the time when I became a single mom i always prayed to God to help me to raise my son on the way he should go (God's way) and also as he grows,to answer his question about our situation. So when i got this book、God gave me a helping tool.^_^ very inspiring and helpful! That's why I I bought another copy of this book to give.^_^ Highly recommended to every single mom raising son.^_^

This book was EXCELLENT. I am a single mother raising a son and I found this book to be an amazingly heartfelt conversation between a successful single mom and one who really wants to be. I am taking to heart much of the advice and I am really excited about her Father's Day idea.If you want to raise gentlemen, this book tells you how.

I have nothing against this book, but it had more to do with Christian inspiration as a single mom than actual advice, tips, and/or explanations about single motherhood. I have nothing against her belief system and noticed it mentioned Christ in the description. I have read useful books with a Christian tilt before, so I was not concerned, but please be warned this is a lot more than simply a Christian tilt.The book has Jesus or Christ or God mentioned on every page. I waited for that to be related to something more tangible that I could use, but it was essentially a sermon and a cathartic exercise for the author. This may be what some people were looking for, but I think that renaming the book to better reflect the actual content would help. I resold it on Amazon whenever I figured out it wasn't going to help me.

This is a great book for those that are truly single parents whether from death or the other parent just not being in the picture. It's a great resource. I have used many ideas from this book.

I will save you the read: read the Bible, trust in God, period. That’s what’s all about. Such a waste of time

I am still working my way through the book. But it is very encouraging to me as a single mom raising a son.
