Amazon Basics Lift-top Coffee Table, Espresso

Like others I was wondering if this was solid hardwood (seemed way too inexpensive to be solid hardwood) or an oak veneer. It turns out it is in fact an oak veneer. This item was drop-shipped and I found the following information on it: "This beautiful coffee table with storage is made with hardwood solids and oak veneers and boasts old world craftsmanship. It has a warm oak finish that will enhance a variety of room styles. It features a lift-top, a shelf and a drawer for extra storage options. Once assembled, the Logan lift-top coffee table measures in at 46” in width by 26” in depth and 18” in height when closed."It comes with 2 drawers, one in front and one in back. They are pretty small with interior measurements of roughly: 9" deep, 21" wide, 1 1/2" tall with about an extra half inch of clearance. The bottom shelf has clearance of roughly 6 1/2" to the bottom of the top section. There are two small storage spaces underneath the table's lift-top. These spaces are trapezoidal as there are corner braces where the legs attach. The dimensions are roughly: 22" x 8 1/2" if the corner braces weren't there and 2 3/4" deep. When lifted the table top is approximately 13" closer to you than when closed and 9 1/2" higher than when closed.The table I received was slightly lighter in color than pictured but still quite attractive and seems very sturdy. It is quite heavy but does come with casters. The weight of the pieces and being careful not to pinch yourself with the lift-mechanism are the only minor challenges to assembly.Assembly: It is basically 6 pieces to assemble plus 4 casters and comes with the necessary hardware. The top comes pre-assembled with the lift-top mechanism already installed and in a locked position so it doesn't accidentally open while unpacking. The bottom comes pre-assembled with the drawers already in place and foam keeping them from shifting and getting damaged. You loosely attach the 4 legs to the top and bottom initially. Once all 4 legs are attached you tighten the bolts. After that, you simply screw the 4 casters to the bottom. The casters seem a bit light-weight for this piece and will have to see how well they hold up.

I read all the previous reviews and decided to purchase this table. I am very pleased with it. The color is perfect for my den. It was easy to assemble, all we had to do was put the legs on. It took my husband and I less than 30 minutes to get it done. I don't recommend using the casters if you have hard floors, but ours is on an area rug and is just fine.The lift mechanism is very quiet and operates easily. There are locks on the underside of the top which I recommend you use if you plan to move the table.The packaging is quite sturdy, so there was no damage during shipping. We had to wait for monthly bulk pickup to recycle the box because it was really thick and we couldn't get it in our recycle bin.All in all, this was a very good purchase and I'm quite happy with it.

It has a strong odor that doesn't go away. The handles on the drawers are dangerous because your shoes laces can get caughton them. We switched to cup pulls but would have preferred to have only one in each drawer. Also drawer is not very deep. Would have been better to only have one.

While the product itself looks excellent, is strong and of good quality made with real wood, the packaging for the shipment was really good. The original package in the cardboard box was shipped in a second cardboard box with excellent cushioning on all sides protecting the product during shipment. The only assembly required was to attach the four legs and the bottom slider wheels. While the assembly instructions were minimal, it wasn't hard to assemble but does require two people.

To assembly this table it definitely takes two people, I was not able to do it by myself, but with both of us it was pretty easy, the instructions were pretty easy to follow, the table is heavy and sturdy which is a good thing. I Love this lift table, no more bending over to do paperwork etc. the only thing I don’t like is that it does not lock into different levels it has to be all the way up for it to lock in place so I can do paperwork other wise it sinks down to the closed position but other than that it was a great purchase

Not too often that the packaging gets a great review. This product is real wood, and therefore easily scratched. They double box the table and use extensive protection for the various sections. Easy to assemble. Better with two people but can be done by one person. Color description is spot on. Can recommend.

Come as two complete piece that attached with 8 bolts. Casters can be attached optionally. Well packaged.
