A great game, unfortunately, it's out of print
This game was originally produced by Wizards of the Coast, but has unfortunately been out of print for several years. The game is based on a popular card game among high schoolers and college students, known as _ _ _ hole (hole, from here on out). For those unfamiliar with the game, hole is played by dealing out an entire standard deck of cards(somtimes two or more decks depending on the number of players). One person leads a card or set of cards, then the next person can either pass or beat the card or set of cards that have been lead. For example, if someone played three 4's, the next player could play three 5's or anything higher. Each player has to play the exact number of cards (in our case, three) and must be higher than what the person played before. If everyone passes, the cards already played are put into the discard pile and the last person to play any cards can lead whatever they want to start the next round. Play continues with the object of the game being to be the first person to go out of cards. On the next hand, players generally re-organize themselves according to the order they went out, so the second person to go out would be on the winner's left, the third person would be to the left of the second person, etc. The first person to go out (known as the president) leads the first card on the next round and gets two cards from the last person to go out (known as the hole). The second person to go out (vice president) gets one card from the second to last person to go out (the vice hole). The Great Dalmuti follows the same rules, except using a special deck of cards. In hole, the ace is the best card, and there are 4 per deck. In Dalmuti, the one is the best card, and there is only one per deck. Similarly there are two dueces, three tres, etc. (equivalent to 2 kings, 3 queens). The numbers range from one to twelve in the deck. The deck also includes two wild cards, which can rearrange everyone's rank under certain situations. The game is best for 5 or more people, makes a great party game, and is an excellent modification of the game hole.
