It softened quickly and it came right off. Be careful not to overheat the electronics though. **Q: Is there a storage case for this meter?** A: No. But the probes clip into the back side of the tool. **Q: does it have magnetic strap** A: Yes. It has a strap with a round magnet that works very well to hold it. Of course, one needs a piece of steel nearby to stick it to. I have found the magnet most useful. Of special note is when I accidently left it on the roof of the car when trying to carry too much and open the door at the same time. Although I lost a folder of papers, the multi-tester was still there after 10 miles @ 45mph. **Q: What is the actual size of this meter?** A: About 2.5 X 5 inches. This is approximate.
