If you have ever seen a hypnotist perform and thought, 'If I could only to do that', this book is for you! Thanks to the genius of Professor Svengali, you will learn to hypnotize in less than one hour. 'Subjects' will follow your every command. Friends will be flabbergasted by your new-found skills. This book contains everything you'll step-by-step instructions make it easy; dozens of routines you can perform; no guesswork - word-for-word scripts; you will be the hit of your next party; never-before hypnosis secrets revealed. Review: Great Book! - I have read a few books on this subject and have also done some training in it, but I have to say, I liked this book a lot. It is to the point and easy to follow. Gives some good scripts and enough information to get going. The only thing I feel I would not do which the author does in some instances, (and is not really necessary) is to lean people forward (chest to knees) I personally have a bad neck and back and this kind of movement would only aggravate the problem, so taking this into mind, I would not want to do this to anyone else, or at the very least, without being very sure they are medically fit to be in this position! Otherwise, I think this book is great and well worth the read. Review: The best hypnosis book I have every read. - Fun With Hypnosis: The Complete How-To Guide by Svengali is, by far, the best book on hypnosis I have ever read. It slowly shows the reader the history of hypnosis. It explains how it is used worldwide in the medical community. It then goes through testing; to relax the subject and to test if he/she responds to your commands. After testing, he tells you how to induct a trance, deepen the trance, mulpitle routines you can do, all with great detail and with word for word scripts that get results. After those chapters, hedives into stage hypnotism and odds and ends, followed by a helpful self help section on self hypnosis for eliminationg and starting habits; for example stop smoking, dieting, and good study habits.

An introduction of a mysterious topic
During college, one of the more impressive stage shows I have ever seen was a group hypnosis. I watched a stage full of about 25 classmates all under hypnosis doing the most surprising things. I would have thought the show was 'rigged' if I had not known several of the people personally. Several years back I attended to a local county fair to see a similar show. That got me intrigued and I ultimately purchased a couple of books on hypnosis to see what this was all about. Fun With Hypnosis is a short paperback, but with some very interesting content. The chapters near the end of the book talk about self-hypnosis. At the time I was having problems getting sleep at night so the section on getting a good night's rest looked interesting. I remember taking a couple pages of the narrative, scanning them into a optical character reading and converting them into computer generated oral text. After assembling the parts in order, I sat back to review the recording which was about 7 minutes long. Kind of dry and boring. Did not think too much of it. Surprising that night and for the next two weeks I slept like a baby. I was impressed. The only nexus I could make from the sound sleeping was the review of that recording. Since then I have burned that oral narrative to a CD for periodic evening listening when my anxiety level is high and I need restful sleeping. I will admit the impact of the recording is less now than the first time I listened to it, but I am impressed. The stuff really works. I have never been part of a mass hypnosis (at least I don't think so), but I will vouch that hypnosis (in general) really seems to work. I have always liked this book for its ease of reading, basic content and introduction to a totally different topic from the norm.

Don't fall for the hoopla
Maybe if you can get your "subject" to stop laughing at you. Maybe if you can get over the cheesey wording and stop laughing yourself. Maybe, just maybe, this might work. Until I see someone use this book live on me or someone I know, I shall cling to my doubts about the effectiveness of the teachings in this book. If you really, really desire to read it..maybe you should check it out at your library and save the money.

You want this book... I wonder why???
Look at the cover of this book. In the backround there is subliminal text. "you want this book" "I want to buy this book" and so on. If you pick it up in a store and suddenly find yourself needing to buy it, the reason is right in front of you. that said, the title may set you off at first, but you will buy it. I bought it, having been snooping around the internet for some information on hypnosis, it jumped out at me as the book i wanted. it wasn't til after i had bought it that i saw the subtext on the front. however, before i had even read it, i simply brought it over to my friend house, and told everyone i had read it, used technquies i learn from hynosis web pages, and was able to induce everyone willing for me to try. I had alot of fun, but it was the confidence in which i went about it all, making them really believe i could, that made it such an entertaining night. oh, and for the book, I'll tell you how it is once I read it.

Useless and dangerous. Only trained professionals should try to hypnotize somebody, not someone from a cheap book.

Hypnosis _IS_ fun :-)
Hello, my name is Nessie! I had a school dance where they brought this really great stage hypnotist who did really funny stunts. I laughed so hard!! After that i became obsessed with hypnosis. Buying books using my birthday money, nothing worked. But when I bought this book, it all came into place! It's crude, but it works. I was able to hypnotize a willing sister :) on my first try and make her fall in love with a desk lamp and sing Madonna. It doesn't happen overnight however, I've had other hypnosis books, but have been unsucessful. This book doesn't have a very good theory and history, i must admit. Good Luck, Shoppers! - Nessie

Good introduction to hypnosis, poor editing
I feel this is a pretty good introduction to hypnosis. The content is well structured and straightforward, and is consistent with what I have previously read on the subject. It's an easy read with plenty of scripts and not too heavy going on the theory. But don't expect the humour of a Derren Brown book! However, the book is let down by very poor editing/proof-reading. The book is self-published I believe and as a self-publisher myself I do understand the difficulties, but it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that the book is littered with typographical errors - some particularly blatant - which ruined the flow for me at times. Having said that, nobody else seems to be troubled by it so maybe I'm just a pedant. (Author: do feel free to contact me if you'd like a list of my mark-ups! [email protected])
