The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings Boxed Set by J. R. R. Tolkien (2011-10-27) Paperback – January 1, 1662

The "Lord of the Rings and Hobbit" books arrived eleven days early. The box shows obvious signs of wear and The Hobbit has been read, though in very good shape. The Lord of the Rings books have not, apparently, been read. I read Lord of the Rings in the mid 1960's, while in high school; reread in while serving in the U.S Navy a few years later. While many truly great fantasy stories have been authored, read, filmed, watched and loved, Lord of the Rings still stands at the head of the class, sort of like Ludwig van Beethoven stands at the head of classical composers. Five stars for the item and five stars for the seller!

Great set, good font, and a great quarantine re-read. My girlfriend and I are switching reading chapters aloud as her first time reading the series—great experience

I looked at the illustrated boxed set on line which looked beautiful. It gave an option of hardcover or paperback. I ordered the paperback set. What I received is the plain boxed set with no beautiful illustrations. If the illustrated only comes with hard covers this should have been specified. Now I think I will have to return the set.

came in early and in good condition. a quick cursory look over shows nothing out of the ordinary. the set received is what i had ordered.

I was so disappointed to open this set and find that one of the books had a damaged cover. Overall this set is lovely, but the cover of the two towers was not properly cut and was folded and damaged.

The covers are beautiful. The books came in faster then predicted. I'm very happy with my purchase.

The present was well packed and beautiful.4 books for that price is bargain and is always better in paperback than movie. Let's your imagination bring you/kid to another level of the scenes. Having them reading is beneficial for their development.

box good but hard to get the books out and print is really small so hence why its got four stars otherwise me happy with it

Worth having one of these sets and will keep for years

Bought this for my son for Christmas. He is a fan and was delighted to have the book collection. It came in perfect condition and well packaged.
