Too many options.Difficult to navigate between information screens....a simple 'back' key doesn't take you back with some functions.Give me my ols Garmin!

Absolutely brilliant bit of kit. This will be my 3rd sky caddie and i can't do without it now.

Previously keen single handicapper returning to golf after a ten year health layoff and my experience? Dodgy, temperamental technology; poor customer service (though extensive); great if you like to be distracted during your round and spend a lot of time on the computer online help; customer services phone line doesn’t answer; don’t use it if there’s even light rain; £30pa subscription for the privilege. There are good sides to the SX500 handheld device and you can find those details on their website. The site also gives the impression it’s ok in rain, with a picture of a wet device .. Hmm! I’ve been advised by online chat not to use it if there’s any rain around; ie use it like your smartphone but you have to make sure it has a clear view of the sky at all times for satellite connectivity. Screen started freezing during rounds, a problem that’s improved but not totally cured after an update. I started having syncing problems with an error message after only playing nine holes practice the other day, ie an incomplete round. Several hours later and what I found to be impatient help from the support team and after failing to contact customer support through the supplied helpline number I was given an email address, which has been answered and I was finally offered a free service to send the device to their tech team. They still won’t speak to you though :-(. The device is now on its way. I want a refund but can’t get one because I’m over 30 days in (3months) even though the device is in ‘as new’ condition. Don’t think I’m getting close to value for money. Bottom line is I expect the device works well if you play in climates like sunny Florida but not so well if you’re in cloudy UK? Interested to see what I get back. Will edit accordingly when I get the returned device

Perfect description and prompt delivery

I had high hopes for this item having used SkyCaddie products for may years. I really liked the idea of the camera being able to add images to holes and courses and, although not a deal breaker, it was there as a feature and I expected it to work.It turns out there is a known fault on these units where some are unable to switch off the front camera as the toggle is missing, meaning you can take lovely shots of your face. After 2 days of trying, including a very expensive call to the US technical support, who transferred me to the UK support, who knew nothing of the issue so said they would need to contact the US support, I have given up and am returning the item.I got back on a chat to the US, who once again told me to call the UK!!Unfortunately the historical good support from SkyGolf has taken a nose dive here and not only are they selling a product which has a known issue, they don't have a fix for it and just push customers from pillar to post when they just want to have a not inexpensive product working as advertised.

I bought this with high hopes. I paid for the licence and the trolley adapter. But it’s a pain to set up. It’s too bulky and frankly not really for me.I use a laser scope and my own judgement and will continue to do so.I don’t think there is much wrong with the product per se - but when I did use it I found the myself not looking at the course but just looking at this screen!It’s not what golf is about for most amateurs in my opinion.
